Von Bontee, I did the experiment you said (I have all my Beatle collection on mp3 so it was easy, without the fading of course) and it's brilliant. I've just moved Her Majesty in the new order.
And it's just perfect, because after The End I have Free As A Bird .. so the small silence it's like the years that went by and now I hear the Beatles from my era!!
Ok do I sound like I'm waaay too much into the Beatles???
Here comes the sun….. Scoobie-doobie……
Something in the way she moves…..attracts me like a cauliflower…
Bop. Bop, cat bop. Go, Johnny, Go.

You know you're a hardcore Beatles fan when…
If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

I wasn't putting Paul down at all. You misunderstood me.
Well, it wasn't actually that hard to get the impression I got.
Yes, Macca IS my hero (not in EVERY way, but still) and I don't like it when people suggest things that support the bad image he has among Lennon-followers.
I'm a big time Lennon fan, but that doesn't mean I dislike Paul. People will also put him down because they believe his ego was so large that he took control of the band and wanted to (as mentioned earlier) have the last word with 'Her Majesty '. While I'm not a fan of its placement, the ego-trip theory does not appear to be the correct one.
I also believe that Paul was one heck of a lot more than just 'the cute one'.

Put one negative comment about Paul, and it's a guarantee that paulsbass will be defending him. I know von bontee has said that he didn't think that it was an intentional ego trip by Paul, but I completely disagree. It was, and Paul had an absolutely massive ego. But, being more of a Lennon fan myself, it's hard not to say that John's ego was just as big, if not bigger. I think it was because of John's huge ego that he tried to sabotage the Beatles by not bringing anything to the table for Let it Be, by showing up a few days late for Abbey Road , even though he was okay to come in from the accident, it was just that Yoko was still not well so he couldn't have possibly shown up without her. Hell, it was a huge ego trip for him to even bring Yoko to the sessions in the first place. Like skye said in another thread, this was John's band and the others weren't going to tell him not to bring her in. So yes, John had a huge ego, but at least we're willing to admit it. You McCartney fans are so adament that Paul's never done anything wrong, which clearly isn't the case.

Yes, he did. But, again, it's been well established that “HM”'s inclusion was an accident. Having already decided to reject the track one time, there's no reason to believe that he would've changed his mind about its inclusion, had the decision not first been inadvertently made without his knowledge.
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

Well it's all basically myth no matter what you believe, after all this time who really knows the official Beatles story and what really did and did not happen? But if the engineer says that he put it in without Paul's knowledge, I have no reason to doubt him, I stand corrected.

There's another thread where I complained in equal detail about another fantastic album (Rubber Soul ) which could've been even better if they'd chosen a different track as closer. I didn't blame anyone in particular there either.

Why so serious?!
Seriously, that's always a good idea when you write sarcasm. Or, in your case, when you try to do so.
No sarcasm here.
Did you all notice these math tasks never go over 20? And no multiplication, division?! What does Joe think we Beatles fans are? Stupid??????

Can't remember exactly! If there was a “Run For Your Life ” thread, it was probably that one…
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Its a nice little song, but Her Majesty wasn't the right song to end it. The End would've been perfect, but they had to add this in.
And in her eyes you see nothing, No sign of love behind the tears, Cried for no one, A love that should have lasted years.
