Good one, mmm. Whenever the subject of this song comes up, I can’t resist observing that in Hawaii, the title is Aloha, Aloha. Sorry, not sorry.

I did all four, as instructed. Thanks for that, mmm!
Indeed – gotta love George’s expressions throughout.

Oooooh, don’t let the pidders see that; they’d have a field day over Paul…. I mean Faul’s effeminateness
This video made me laugh nearly as hard as the Coming Up video…

Restored video:
This seems to be the remixed audio (I wondered if they’d hold it back for the 1 release). The bass and piano in particular seem much punchier and brighter. I’m so pleased that they’re doing this.

Is the bit at the end different as i dont remember that ending? The whole tracks sounds brighter to me, vocals and such.
Also didn’t realise in all the other clips of the track that Paul needed to shave.
"I told you everything I could about me, Told you everything I could" ('Before Believing' - Emmylou Harris)
Do you mean the grass skirted women? Yep, they were in the original, unless this is another hybrid clip like the Revolution one.
They made three Hello, Goodbye clips. Here’s the info from my page for that day:
The Beatles filmed promotional footage for their forthcoming single Hello, Goodbye at London’s Saville Theatre on this day.
Without an audience present, they mimed to the song on stage. At the time the theatre was still leased by NEMS Enterprises, despite the recent death of Brian Epstein.
Paul McCartney was the director of the three promo clips made, using different costumes for each. For the first The Beatles wore their Sgt Pepper uniforms before a psychedelic backdrop. The clip also had cutaways of the group waving to the camera in their 1963 collarless suits, and some dancing girls wearing Hawaiian costumes in the finale.
The second clip had The Beatles in their normal (for 1967, at least) clothes, with the dancing girls again appearing in the finale. The third was made of outtakes from the first two clips, plus footage of The Beatles dancing the Twist.

I’m with mmm. The coda looks like a new edit of the footage to me. I think this is Version 1 with some changes.

I remember the night. We knew they were going to be on, didn’t (of course) have any idea what they would do. We all gathered over Laurie’s house (I had a crush on her because she looked like Marianne Faithfull with dark hair).
Silly lyrics (John hated it), but very busy. It never stops (except for the false ending). Lots of percussion and sounds coming from everywhere. Great drumming from Mr Starr. Rhythm reminds me of Baby You’re A Rich Man . Very complex along with the voices playing against each other.

The grass skirt coda reminds me, yet again, that in Hawaii, the lyrics would be “You say aloha, and I say aloha. Aloha, aloha; I don’t know why you say aloha, I say aloha…”

Thanks for the videos, @meanmistermustard and @Joe!
#1: I watched, delighted, amazed, and laughed, as instructed. Paul is clearly trying too heard, as he always does, and what would be embarrassing on anyone else is adorable on him because, well, y’know, Paul. George isn’t even bothering. ‘I am not trying to be smart, I only want what I can get.’ He jazzes up a bit at the end though, that’s great. John is actually the most amusing to me.
#2: Wow! That was actually the first time I’d seen that video, so I can’t compare it to the unrestored, but it looked great! They look and feel so real as compared with your average 1960s-quality footage. Alas, my speakers weren’t very good so I can’t remark upon the audio quality, so I’ll just take everyone else’s word for it.

As I Say in the 1DVD Forum, this is the original,@meanmistermustard and @Ron Nasty thinks that is rare because the version who appears usually is the mix of anthology who in the coda appears scenes of video 3. The original version with the original quality it´s on my computer (I´m a collector).
The rare video of the top is a joy like the recently discovered I Am The Walrus outtakes, Let It Be ddsi 31.?? and Top of the Pops Can´t Buy Me Love/You Can´t Do That.

Regarding the audio: I compared it to the anthology version and the original MMT release (I’m on my phone, but I think phone has the best audio on the market – htc m1 8, stereo w/beats) – that’s why I picked it.
The tempo is a little faster. I especially like the drums – the come through much clearer than any of the other versions.
Regarding the video: I think George looks a little, shall we say, sleepy? 😉 John is the goofiest in the restored video I agree.
Thanks for sharing – I too delighted, laughed, etc.
@salvi productions bootlegs, perhaps you could share the original original?

Lennon was mad that this song overtook the more progressive-sounding I Am The Walrus as the A-Side, but “Hello, Goodbye ” is a really great radio song. I think that driving guitar rift with the energy of the drums (on an overall safe pleasant song) just gave this one the edge it needed.

I know John said in a later interview that Paul wrote Hello Goodbye as a nonsensical song, but I have come up with a way both the song and video (the one on the VEVO channel posted by Joe above) could be interpreted:
Both could be seen as a message for the teenyboppers who ditched The Beatles after they revealed their new image and sound at the beginning of 1967 with the SFF/Penny Lane single, which went beyond the She Loves You , Eight Days A Week etc. love pop song formula that these fans were used to and screamed over at the concerts. The Beatles wanted to address the teenyboppers ( “Hello, hello…” ) and let them now that they are still the same people from the year before and the year before that (symbolised through the collarless suits from the Beatlemania days in the video) and that they have simply progressed in sound, and that shouldn’t have to be the reason for them to stop listening to them (“I don’t know why you say goodbye… “).
What do you guys think of this interpretation?
