If there is any song on Revolver that doesn’t get enough attention, it may this one. This might just be my second favorite song on the album (although it’s tough to choose), behind Tomorrow Never Knows . I love it’s optimism and the piano is great. Paul’s so good at making these piano based tunes! It just makes me sooo happy!

Welcome sgt cinnamon!
I think Paul’s songwriting skills on this album were really improving and this is one of the best tracks on there.
Turn off your stream, relax and float down mind
I just heard something funny in this recording which I hadn’t noticed before. In the third verse when Paul sings “She feels good” you can hear John quietly repeat “She feels good” in a deep comedy voice at around the 1:27 mark. I wonder if George Martin missed this when mixing or did he just decide to leave it in?

You can be pretty sure he noticed and kept it in, or was asked to by the Beatles.
This isn’t the only time this sort of thing happened, after all – Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da is a great example, you can, and different points, hear John shout ‘arm’, and George shout ‘leg’ and ‘foot’.
I do wonder they decided to keep that in (not that I’m complaining!)

Paul laughs because of John’s comment when he sings the next line. The Beatles kept a lot of these in, which you will see if you go thru the recordings; tons of asides and jokes buried but are there and you wonder how you missed them for such a long time as soon as you hear them.
I think they liked the freshness and fun element of it all as it brought them joy and they wanted that to come across on the record, George M might not have always seen it that way tho. However, there was also a degree of not having time or the desire to go and have another go at the vocals.
