Nooooo! Admittedly, the chorus of Carry That Weight is the worst part but the horns and the guitar solo are the peak of the medley
Chorus = earworm of the century
YNGMYM section = quite pleasant

This is the track that George didnt remember playing bass on.
there’s an amusing extra from the ‘Anthology’ where The Threatles and George Martin are discussing the bass part in the studio… George even asks “which album is this one on anyway?”…:-)

Carry That Weight has incredible pacing, building up energy before launching into one last stride literally before The End . With the last chorus refrain I feel the emotional significance of what they’re doing – wrapping up the band for good.

I just can’t skip any part of the medley. Skipping songs, especially when they run together, keeps me awake at night.

Same here. I get really bothered when people skip important medley songs or for example, play Brain Damage by itself without Eclipse

I didn’t phrase it well at all, but I was wondering at what point you started skipping those songs.

Oh. That would be… always, I guess. I wasn’t familiar with them until I downloaded all the Beatles albums on my phone, and at that point I didn’t have much interest in full albums, I just listened to individual songs & playlists; so I heard those two songs on their own and didn’t like them. Then when i started listening to full albums, I recognized the songs, went “ew I don’t like those” and skipped them, and I’ve been doing the same ever since.

I couldn’t skip any part of the medley, personally. On any other given Beatles album there are songs I regularly skip (What Goes On , Good Day Sunshine , Lovely Rita , Little Child ), but when they flow together so wonderfully I can’t skip any in good conscience.

Flabbergasted at any of you skipping any part of that medley of medleys! “Pam” has a superb George solo, FIDDY, and who doesn’t like cowbell?
Y’all mad.
My first exposure to GS was on a $0.25 LP, full of scratches and a few gouges and skips. And after each of the first two “…do not cry…”s, the vinyl had a defect that made a whining noise…and I mistook it for some terribly-done “crying baby” effect!
I like it enough.

Well, excuse you, vb (edit: and Beatlebug 😉 ), I like cowbell just fine
and there are plenty of completely wonderful songs with completely wonderful George solos, thanks very much!
*clears throat* anyways. Golden Slumbers is beautiful. It’s one of those songs that’s absolutely dripping with emotion, and I love it.

Golden Slumbers is wonderful and a nice ballad to have in the medley.
Also it should be illegal to skip any songs while listening to the medley.
And in the end the lunch you take is equal to the lunch you bake.
