A couple of years ago, whilst working in a relatively quiet job, where I had plenty of time where nobody bothered me, I made it a habit to pass such time by singing three songs from each of the Beatles albums, in order of each albums release (U.K.) From Please Please Me , I chose 'Misery '; 'Ask Me why' and 'P.S. I Love You'. from With The Beatles 'Little Child '; 'You've Really Got a Hold On Me' and 'All My Loving '. From A Hard Days Night I chose 'I'll Cry Instead'; 'You Cant Do That' and 'Things We Said Today '. From Beatles For Sale 'I'm A Loser'; 'I'll Follow The Sun' and 'Baby's In Black'.From Help , ''I Need You '; 'It's Only Love' and 'You've Got To Hide Your Love Away' From Rubber Soul , 'Norwegian Wood '; 'If I Needed Someone ' and 'Nowhere Man '. From Revolver , 'I'm Only Sleeping'; 'For No One ' and 'Tomorrow Never Knows '. From Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds '; 'Fixing A Hole ' and 'Good Morning Good Morning '; from Christmas 1967 single, 'I Am The Walrus '; From the White Album , 'Blackbird ', 'Dear Prudence ' and 'Long Long Long'. From Abbey Road , 'Octopus's Garden', 'Mean Mr Mustard ' and 'Golden Slimber' and from Let It Be 'Two Of Us ', 'One After 909 ' and 'Long and Winding Road'. I sometimes would get a bit annoyed if anybody bothered me if I was in the middle of a particular song, and I did once attemp to sing 'Revolution 9 ' but soon realised that I couldn't make all of the sound effects. Good Times!!!
That's actually amused me quite a bit. Thanks for sharing! I love the idea of you attempting Revolution 9 – I must try that sometime.
I'm surprised you didn't sing Don't Bother Me. It sounds like that would have fitted your feelings at the time

I was actually working on a game-stall, so to be honest, people would bother me quite alot. But there were days when it would be quiet, so I would fill the empty hours with singing the Beatles songs. I enjoy all those songs, but then there are certain songs that I enjoy singing, like Things We Said Today , where I just don't want to be interupted. I would just get into the feel of the song, when a passer-by would stop and gawp! Okay, I had a job to do, so I would stop mid-tempo and offer the person a go on the stall… they would just gawp… and then walk on. I would then have a good scan of the horizon and then start again with 'You say you will love me…

My, I wish I had the solitude to be able to do that- sounds like fun!
I work in a huge department store, so I suppose it would be a little out of the ordinary to see a cashier suddenly break into If I Needed Someone or Cry Baby Cry .
Tongue, lose thy light. Moon, take thy flight… see ya, George!

Well as long as you don't start blurting out “You Never Give Me Your Money , you only give me your funny paper”
"If we feel our heads starting to swell.....we just look at Ringo!"

Ugh. Retail. I feel your pain. You could do what I do and nickname the store equipment. Right now I've christened our four self checkout registers. I get to audit them the next day, and so far Paul and Ringo are pretty welll behaved. John acts up sometimes but when he's good he's perfect. When he's not, well we usually have to call a tech out. George doesn't seem to like new bills so I'm always be called out to get him out of a jam. TMI?
Ad hoc, ad loc, and quid pro quo! So little time! So much to know!

Hey, It could be really amusing to make a cover of Revolution 9 ! Someday I will try it!
Let’s see… I have a piano, my brother’s cymbals, Audacity installed… oh, Internet connection… Weekends… My bandmates (two girls, for the femenine voices, yeah!). Maybe a mp3 recorder to compile some samples will be of use.
And there’s a lot of info about the sounds John compile and the tracks and timing used, that could be used as the “score”.
Oh, man, thanks! That’s a great idea!
I'd like to say "thank you" on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition.

Good for you, make a game, use it at work with pride, and attempt Revolution 9 . You are quite the fan. 🙂
When I Twish And Shout, it makes the Girl say "What Goes On?", and than I say, "I do this Here, There and Everywhere", and than she finishes by saying "Honey Don't".

I work in retail as well.
I work at a grocery store that also has a gas station ( or a petrol station ) and in the past I have had to work out there. I have spent alot of those lonely hours singing Beatle songs. I try my best to sound like them and I do the music parts as well. I think my best John is Its only Love, Paul is probably For No One , George is I Need You or Taxman and Ringo would have to be With A Little Help From My Friends .

When I was a kid I used to get in school suspension often and I’d pass time by writing out the release dates and track lists of all The Beatles’ singles and albums. It worked well because it kept me occupied and made it look like I was doing something productive.
