I agree, I’m not sure if there’s anything faster. Maybe Her Majesty .

I think you need to measure it by the tempo of the quarter notes (or eighth notes if the time signature has an 8 on the bottom). “I’ve Just Seen A Face ” may be deceptive, because the listener would be cheating by counting all the notes in between the main beats (especially as emphasized by that acoustic guitar solo).
I’d say Revolution 2 may be actually faster.
There’s also that comic version of “The Long And Winding Road ” Paul does with George and Ringo (John’s not there) — comically fast tempo — in the movie Let It Be . (I can’t find it on YouTube)

I just count the backbeats myself, as measured by snare drum hits.

OK, I can’t figure out their calculations at all – they’ve got bloody “Hey Jude ” as the fastest! And “Dig It ” as second-fastest. Weird…
I still maintain that it’s “I’ve Just Seen A Face “. (Unless you can count part-songs, in which case it’s the accelerated ending of “All Together Now “, as one guy on that thread points out.)

^^ The OP explained that anomaly in the next post, though, and responded specifically to the Hey Jude issue to another commenter:
My computer was trying to shut down, so i sent that last post without
noting that the BPMs (beats per minute) in the list appear to be
calculated at “double-time” on some songs, so if a slow song has a
reading of 148.22, I assume it should read at 74.11 instead.

Yeah, the software’s imperfect. No one wants to sit down with a metronome, lol. I looked it up as I figured this had to have been answered definitively. It seems nonetheless that I’ve Just Seen A Face and Revolution 2 are coming up on top there as well.

Depending on how you define “fastest,” I might throw in “Mr Moonlight .” It’s only a fraction of a second between the moment the song starts and the start of the next song on my iPod.
But where would “Back In The USSR ” fit in?

OK, lol! Took me a moment to get that! (Or several ‘moments’, depending on how you define them)
“Back In The USSR ” is, to my ears, approximately the same tempo as “Birthday “, making those two the fastest on the White Album , and pretty fast overall. But I think quite a few 1963-64 songs still outpace those two, like “I Saw Her Standing There “, “Rock And Roll Music ” and (ironically enough) “Slow Down “.

I’ve Just Seen A Face came to my mind immediately. That song has gone around amongst Bluegrass players, and bluegrass music can be very fast. I do believe that McCartney wrote it intentionally to sound like a Bluegrass song. The tempo is faster than Rock And Roll Music or any of the other songs mentioned here.

It’s only fast if you count each 8th note. If you count the quarter beats, it’s twice as slow. For example, if you count the “matchbox” beats Ringo is tapping in “I’m Looking Through You ” — then that would be faster. And those beats are no less legitimate (and no more) than the 8th beats of IJSAF.
