I love this song. I know it's not one of the Beatles masterpieces but I think it's too damn good. The chorus is quite catchy and it has a out-of-this-world quality. I just can't explain.
Any fans of Don't pass me by?
Here comes the sun….. Scoobie-doobie……
Something in the way she moves…..attracts me like a cauliflower…
Bop. Bop, cat bop. Go, Johnny, Go.
Beware of Darkness…

It's cute but that makes me think the poor woman got scalped.
That or a wig. Either way, safety first kids. Windows up and your long hippy hair tied back!
You missed your calling, skye. You should be writing PSA's.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

In my opinion, the Anthology version has better drumming, but it seems emptier because of the missing fiddle. Have you noticed that Ringo makes the same mistake in the third verse in both versions? Also, I think the mono is sped up.

One of the certainties on my single White Album . Brilliant song. And the unedited version from the Peter Sellers tape bootleg is a real joy, especially with the door knock sound effect.
Oh and Ringo counting that you can hear in the instrumental parts “1 and a 2 and a 3 and a 4 and a 5 and 6 and 7 and an 8”.
