Only A Northern Song , Bungalow Bill, Words Of Love and Till There Was You belong here. I like PS I Love You and Run For Your Life , and Ill Cry Instead wasnt the best song on ADHN by any means, but I think it’s a bit low.
Overall not many complaints.

Bungolow bob, Run For Your Life , Till There Was You , Words Of Love and, PS I Love You don’t belong this low but Piggies should have been higher than them all. Why are the Beatles great songs all being at the bottom

Only a handful of covers remain – Baby It’s You , Twist And Shout , Please Mr Postman & Roll Over Beethoven . I’m a little sad Long Tall Sally got cut, I would put that at least in the top 120.
Sad we finally lost our first songs from A Hard Day’s Night (I’ll Cry Instead ) and Rubber Soul (Run For Your Life ) too.

I agree. I like “I’ll Cry Instead .”

I can’t believe Baby It’s You will be higher than Words Of Love and Til there was you.
I’ll Cry Instead is boring.
I love Bungalow Bill and PS I Love You though, however, I sort of do agree with their places in this list.

Totally agree with you Linde, i’ve always loved Words Of Love (probably more down to its placement on ‘Love Song’) and Till There Was You more than Baby Its You (a nice cover, not much more).

It’s So Hard to rank these songs, that I’m mainly curious to see what songs will end up in the top half (and top 20!) vs the bottom half. So far, I can’t say any of the songs listed really belonged in the top half even if I disagree with some of the super low rankings.

I say Love Me Do and Long and winding road should have been higher and Piggies should have been in the upper half of songs along with Run For Your Life

Of the latest list (170 – 161) (can’t not hear the BBC ‘Pick of the Pops’ theme with these (Beatles link – Alan ‘Fluff’ Freeman who hosted a few of the Beatles shows was the original presenter)).
Don’t Pass Me By is another track that over the years has lost some of its appeal. Love Ask Me Why with its crisp stops and John’s vocal but bottom of mid-table is expected
I’d say that none of these tracks placings are unexpected but its getting to the point of “what? I love that song, and that song, and that one! That one is great!! And thats fantastic!!! This is ridiculous!” before stomping out the room in a mood.

Faceo, I’d like to point out I do enjoy the comments, it was just the placement on the list I found a bit annoying.
Don’t Pass Me By is one of the few Ringo tracks I’m not sad to see go…
Like MMM said were all seeing songs we love, but we love all of them, which was what made ranking the songs such a challenge in the first place. And agreed with ITSWD, the top half will be much more entertaining, but getting the results is fun.

I crossed out the ones that shouldn’t be that low. Ob La Di, Ob La Da should be the top ten

I dont love all of them. I’d happily send every trace and memory of Hold Me Tight that ever existed into a Black Hole without a moments thought.

This just in: meanmistermustard does not care for “Hold Me Tight “!
Me, I’m waiting for “Roll Over Beethoven ” to show up. George was totally the wrong Beatle to sing this one – he hasn’t got a rock n’ roller’s voice. Plus he messes up the intro. (It’s curious that he was given a full three songs to sing on With the Beatles, isn’t it?)
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

I hadn’t said it for a few hours so it was time. We get newbies on here, its important they know.
Yeah never understood why George got three lead vocals, John or Paul could have sung lead on another cover. I suppose they looked at the material they wanted to record and Roll Over Beethoven and Devil In Her Heart were decided upon above any of the others, tho I’d happily trade Devil In Her Heart for a studio version of Soldier Of Love.

Ooh yeah, a studio “Soldier of Love” would be great. As for “Beethoven” I’d be happy if John or Paul sang that one – just because Chuck Berry did both the vocal and the guitar heroics on his original doesn’t mean George had to handle both duties on the cover.
