I am going to have to admit I didn’t read all the posts in this thread. It is kind of painful. So, I hope I am not repeating anyone with this observation.

At about 2:10 or so into “Sexy Sadie ” there are a few seconds that sound like “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite” but with the words “Sexy Sadie she’s the latest and greatest of them all”.

On I’ll Be Back the first words “You know…” sounds like “I look…” from While My Guitar Weeps.

"White Album - My joint-fave Beatles album along with Revolver. They show the two sides of Beatles. Revolver's very controlled - even though it's also very innovative. The White Album's playful and almost ramshackle. It's like a scrapbook kept by a genius. Fantastic stuff."

At 1:10 into “Long Long Long” I hear music from “Junk in the Yard”. It may go on to have more similarities, but this is enough for now.

There’s that piano bit in “Revolution #9″ that sounds like it was borrowed from the “Guitar Gently Weeps” intro (flown-in from that session?)

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

The Lord Loves The One That Loves The Lord’s opening guitar is incredibly similar to Old Brown Shoe ‘s opening piano.

I was playing guitar last night and noticed the chord progression for Something ‘s bridge is the roughly the same as the chords in the verse to “Help .”

A C#m F#m (Something adds an E bass note to the chord, most likely from Macca’s bass line) D G A

The fabs often borrowed from themselves, but this is neat because this is two separate composers.

Anyway, I thought it was neat.

EDIT: Oops “versus” in title should be “verse.”

I find Nowhere Man and And Your Bird Can Sing to have a lot of structural similarities.

Would a mod fix the title of this thread and then delete this post?

The “s” should be dropped from resembles.

I wake up at 2 a.m., check the forum, and this is what catches my eye. Go back to bed little Miss Grammar fiend.

Is this a regular occurrence? If so its some serious dedication/obsession.

hahaha lol No, not a regular habit of mine, mmm. I just woke up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed last night for some unknown reason. Glad I had 9 unread posts to entertain me. I finally fell back asleep for 3 more hours. I’m ready to take on the day. I’m training a new hire today.

However, to be honest, I am obsessed with this site and with the joy you and all ofthe other forum members bring into my life.

Could have sworn I answered to a similar topic. Love Me Do and From Me To You resemble each other a bit.

Octopus’s Garden ‘s guitar lick reminds me of a song, but I can’t remember which one. I’ll get back to you.

EDIT: I listened to it again, and the underlying guitar during the verses really reminds me of Sun King

DOUBLE EDIT: As mentioned in the OP, I Want You (She’s So Heavy) and Because ‘s riffs sound very similar.

TRIPLE EDIT: I just read through the rest of this thread, and it’s hilarious. Just wow. I mean, I’ve read the Day In The Life thread, but this is just comical. I love this forum so much. heartapple01heart

The Word and Taxman seem close, although could just be both having the staccato articulation of the notes.

And while a bit different I always get the same “vibe” from I’ll Follow The Sun and I will.

You've got a lucky face.

That, and the fact that it’s the same chord. Good call on that one!

Someone mentioned “Don’t Let Me Down “/”Sun King ” and there again, it’s the same chord and even the same first few notes of the guitar lick. When I play either of those songs on my guitar, it starts in the exact same chord position.

Another musical mirroring is in “Rain “/”Paperback Writer .” Paul’s bass line is almost identical, note-for-note, in each song, albeit in a different tempo. Same key, though, with the same octave-jumps and inclusion of the 7th (which he also uses, in a different key, with “Taxman “).

Not a bit like Cagney.
