There have been updates to the playlists on the Beatles channel on YouTube. Two are the ‘Yellow Submarine Songtrack‘ and ‘Let It Be… Naked‘, the other two ‘The Early Years‘ and ‘The Legend Begins‘ which cover the Tony Sheridan recordings’. The latter two might be playlists linked to videos uploaded by others but surely Apple have enough common sense and knowledge not to link the Beatles to tracks they are actually not on. What the hell do the Beatles really have to do with ‘Let’s Dance’ or ‘Ruby Baby’ as in being on the damn record except for inaccurate track listings 50 years ago?

All these uploads are related to the launch of YouTube Music in May. YT came to a deal with various major labels (and presumably smaller ones) which granted the rights to stream a massive amount of music (similarly to Spotify). A result of that is all these uploads to the official channels (it’s not just for the Beatles; various big acts have had their back catalogues added to their respective accounts).
I don’t know the exact process, but it looks like these tracks have been bulk uploaded by the labels, and are automatically mapped to the artists’ channels. You can tell by the artwork (a box with artwork on the left, and song/artist details on the right), and the words “Auto-generated by YouTube” in the description.
It’s great news that we’ve got all the albums on YouTube, but I guess the automation has led to some anomalies, eg Let’s Dance/Ruby Baby. I couldn’t see an easy way to flag incorrect tagging on YouTube, so I guess they’ll probably stay until someone connected to the channel/label spots it and complains. Unfortunately there’s a fair chance that a lot of casual listeners will assume these are actually Beatles recordings.

@Shamrock Womlbs I’m still able to find Sgt. Peppers 50th anniversary stuff with no issues, for example:
Perhaps the uploads became blocked in your region and so aren’t appearing anymore or something?

I see. It is there if you search specifically for it but i don’t see the super deluxe pepper listed in their albums list like the White Album super deluxe, for example. It’s odd, or maybe it’s just some regional thing but i remember seing it listed in their albums when it came out.
Anyway, thx for your help

The 1992 version of Ringo Starr ‘s “Everyone Wins”, mistitled “Everybody Wins” is not on Youtube. Youtube is usually how I share non-spotify music with my friends, but I can’t share that song unless I’m with them in person.

I’ve noticed that there are quite a few YouTube videos with isolated drums from The Beatles era which I find fascinating to hear just how inventive Ringo was. But I can’t find anything isolated from his solo output. At all. Anyone know any different? And if not is it because he has ‘people’ one it? You can find some solo isolated stuff from the other three, just not Ringo.

I doubt many people bother listening to Ringo’s solo material never mind spending time isolating instruments and then upping the videos online. I would imagine there are even less who want to then watch those videos.

I’d agree his stuff post Blast From Your Past is largely underwhelming, but arguably he had the best solo success of the lot up to then with some absolutely stonking good singles. That material has got lots of merit IMO.
