Can people please move this conversation to the thread that already exists for this subject.Could I also request that people check if an appropriate thread already exists before creating new threads, or ask questions such as this in the “Miscellaneous Questions…” threads. There was no point to the clean up of the forum conducted by @Joe and the mods if people continue to create new threads without seeing if such a thread already exists. A simple search of thread titles would have shown this topic is already covered.
This thread, as a result, will either be merged (depending on how long Google has had to map it) or locked.
We do not want multiple threads on the same subject, and it would be appreciated if forum members helped avoid this.
Thank you.
In addition to the “Thank” button, Joe should also put up a “Sheepish Sorry” button…
I was being lazy and apologize…

“Rather than go through every fan made video to check it meets their [Beatles (i.e., the only two surviving Beatles) and Apple] high standards for how they want to see themselves portrayed, it is far easier to just ban the lot.”
I wonder about the mechanics of that.
Who decided that? It must have started with one individual, right What led to that decision? How was it implemented? At a board meeting?
How did they make it happen? A business communication with Google (who owns YouTube)?
Is it as easy legally for an artist to just have his lawyers contact Google and ask them to do it, then Google automatically has to comply or be sued? When Google complies, how do they concretely put it into effect?
Does Google have a team of low-paid outsourced workers in digital sweatshops in Shanghai, Bangkok and/or Manila monitoring YouTube 24/7 to make sure nobody uploads the outlawed video?
Note: My questions are just meant to be rhetorical. I wonder about things like this. If anyone has actually informed answers pertinently addressing any one or more of them, please feel free (and thank you)…

The generic George Harrison channel has this description:
Harrison, George Bagshawe (1894–1991), literary scholar • This channel was generated automatically by YouTube’s video discovery system.
Thought it funny and rather pitiful.

The albums and certain songs are slowly reappearing on youtube. Apple’s lawyers may now be too rich to care or on holiday but some of the albums are up here and certain songs are available too.
I feel like a naughty school boy listening to ‘I Need You ‘.

Yeah, I was going to post about this. The channels ‘Legendary Music Of All Time’, ‘Ceroee_’ and ‘Fusion Swing’ have been uploading plenty of their songs for weeks now. I downloaded the entire White Album and had a most enjoyable car journey.
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

A late response, but I wonder what he thought in 1963 when he heard about some young kid from a popular Liverpudlian band shared the same name as him…

That’s so dumb. George’s middle name is Eugene. Duh!

Back in my day if you wanted to hear a Beatles song you would go to the record store or turn on the radio, but now there’s this newfangled YouTube thing. So confusing.
