There is only one thread that sends a shiver down the spine when someone decides to re-open it. The dreaded thread that asks whether John or Paul did the “Aaaah” on A Day In The Life . Every other thread we welcome the return of. I’m looking to someone rediscovering “Beatles Challenge” in Yesterday … and today. That was always most interesting. Must be about five-six months since anyone did that.

You’ll never have any problem here dragging old threads, kicking and screaming, back out into the light.

There is also the who’s better Paul or George debate which went nowhere but gave everyone motion sickness.

OK – back on topic :)

Love the album!  On first impressions I was struck by Joe Walsh, Edgar Winter and the Tabla Girl’s contributions, with Paul and Joss Stone effective on the vocals.  The ones I like so far: ‘Fill In The Blanks’, ‘Walk With You’ and ‘Who’s Your Daddy’ with honourable mention for the title track which was kinda fun.

I honestly think some folks have become overly critical with the passing of time and gaze blearily at the past with rose-tinted specs and fuzzy pleasant memories which don’t match the quality of some of the music back then.  I reckon if this had come out after Goodnight Vienna it would have been a good solid hit.

So, for me at least, money VERY well spent.  Can anyone who is still ‘into’ Ringo advise what I should try next; the last Ringo I bought prior to this was Rotogravure so I don’t really know his discography since then.

Peace and Love!

As I have mentioned here and there on the forum, I heart Ringo’s voice and music. I can’t wait for the concert!

While getting ready for work, I was listening to Y Not. This comparison thought popped into my mind.

When Ringo sings this from Mystery of the Night (link to lyrics) (begins at :42 in the video below)

I hear your footsteps coming near.
It’s the sound I love to hear.

I thought of this from Don’t Pass Me By (link to lyrics)

I listen for your footsteps
Coming up the drive
Listen for your footsteps
But they don’t arrive

When Ringo starts singing the chorus of Mystery of the Night (at :55), I melt.

Then you fall right into me,
Mmm, it’s Destiny.
You can hear the angels sing —
Something feels so right.
We don’t even have to say the words;
I can feel the world around us turn.
Feel our love’s alive, living in the mystery of the night.

On the subject of US Talkshow hosts, did anyone see the interview around the time of Love when Johnny Carson interviewed Paul & Ringo (along with Olivia & Yoko at various points)? It was so embarrasing. Carson was a total knob and Paul & Ringo ended up taking the p*ss……and I don’t think Carson actually realised either.

I think your thinking of the Larry King interview…..

Carson died in 2005.

You've got a lucky face.

I don’t have this one.  I recently bought Ringo 2012 but haven’t listened to it.  I think there are a few albums I have on my iPod but still haven’t heard yet.  I’ll get through them before the concert.

I think you’ll like it. I get choked up when “Walk with You” is playing.

I just got some more Amazon gift cards so I will be purchasing Ringo 2012 and a few more that I don’t have yet. We will be prepared!

I have a feeling we’ll be hearing Photograph, Yellow Submarine , Matchbox , Honey Don’t , and maybe Boys .

“Walk With You” is one of the best songs of Ringo’s solo career. Paul’s harmony vocal is such a nice touch. :)

This is the first “Robot Ringo” album, and I think his autotuned voice is quite pleasant on this album, especially on the slower tracks like Walk With You and Mystery Of The Night.
