Well, ebay has sucked me in again. I just bought what was described as a ‘Ringo Rama cd boxset’ near the deadline time. I had no time to ask the seller what was actually in it, and Google found nothing. I suspect it is only the CD/DVD set, but ‘with a little luck’ it will be the 3-disc one – I paid a couple of dollars more than the 2-disc one elsewhere, but it was worth the gamble.

I think it has a video diary of the sessions, some extra interviews, and the “Never Without You” video clip. I think the 2nd disc in the 2-disc set is mostly audio interviews with a bit of video. I’m really enjoying the Ringo CDs just now so will be OK with whatever turns up.

Well – I guess ebay had to screw me eventually given my history buying there. Not only is it not the 3-disc set, it isn’t even the 2-disc one. Now I am supposed to return it to them and see what they deign to send back – as if. I have also had one item not arrive and have a claim going on that one – plus one that hasn’t shown as posted after a week and no reply from the seller when I contact them. Oh, and one item looks like a fake on closer inspection, but at least the CD plays.
So, 4 bad experiences out of around 40 purchases – I guess ~10% is not TOO bad – but it is an annoyance I could do without. Luckily I am at the end of my spree and have most of what I wanted.

Update on this – I lodged a partial refund claim with PayPal after the seller failed to contact me for over a week – they have just given me a full refund, plus I can keep the CD. That will do me, shame I didn’t get the DVD but at least I didn’t pay over the money for the CD in the end (in fact cost nothing apart from the weeks of angst). They really need to check what their 3rd party providers send out in their name; many of the sellers on ebay are just virtual shopfronts who use companies in a variety of other countries to actually supply the goods.

This album is a nice one to come back to. It’s full of some nice rockers. I’ve always been fond of “Missouri Loves Company”. I also love “Love First, Ask Questions Later” and, “I Think Therefore I Rock And Roll” which are both fun songs and cool Ringo twists to popular lines.
