Read this recent article on the merits of Ringo from NME, and it really refreshed my feeling of how underappreciated he is; as well as being witty and well-written.

People concentrate most to J/P because they were the prime songwriters, vocals etc… of the group. He was just a drummer. A great one for sure, but I can’t really compare him to George, John or Paul. Best Beatle maybe as of person to hang out, he was having a good relation with every Beatle but if talk about musical side of it, than it’s silly even talking about it.

Oh I agree…as a musician, no, he is not the “best” Beatle…not at all…
He does have an easy, natural sort of charm that none of the others did…even Paul, friendly and photogenic as he is, always seemed to be playing a bit of a role to me, always “on.” Ringo came off a contented, complete person who knew he had it good and that endears him to lots of people.

Yeah, he was a great guy to hang out, no doubt about that, but they all had charisma and wit (especially George and John) which none musician ever surpassed. You can never get enough dose of interviews of these 4 guys :). Anyway this topic reminded me of clip from FG:
P.S. Weird accents by the way..
