Odd question but i can download tracks off two Ringo albums for free (Bad Boy and Stop and Smell the Roses). I haven’t heard either and have no plan to (sorry Ringo) so are any tracks on these worth grabbing or are both albums filled with skippers. I dislike Back Off Boogaloo by the way, too repetitive.Thank you.
I’m sure NOTHING from Rings is a skipper

Am listening to some of Ringo’s work via either youtube or my music catalogue. Have heard Beacoups, Sentimental Journey, Ringo and Rotogravure and next will give Goodnight Vienna a spin. Omitting the late 70’s and 80’s albums (they are meant to be dreadfu, tho might try out Stop and Smell The Roses at some point) which is good to listen to of the others?

As mentioned above somewhere I liked Y Not, but haven’t yet made it past 1970 otherwise so yet to listen to some of the later ones.

I thought it was ok and nothing more, nothing set me alight or made me want to download. Truth be told i cant remember much of it – not a great sign. After All Those Years is another in Ringo’s odes to the Beatles, right?
I’ll keep going tho, i think all of his albums are on youtube.

Yes, from Early 1970 on he has been pretty consistent with his laments for the loss of the band and the time with his mates.

Outside of a greatest hits album, I’d suggest not going too crazy on Ringo albums. You’ll honestly probably never play them more than once. It’s a matter of opinion. If you happen to enjoy Ringo’s drumming and his voice, you may enjoy his albums. I do relisten to several of his albums, but others are not worth checking out — Bad Boy , Ringo the Fourth, Rotogravure, and Scouse the Mouse are all albums I would stay away from.
They just played what I guess is the theme song from Scouse the Mouse on Saturday with the Beatles. I’d never heard of it, so I looked it up on Wikipedia. I wonder if any of the artwork from the proposed TV special is still around. With Paul working on Bruce McMouse, imagine if they’d ended up with dueling Beatle rodent specials.

WETSroosa played Scouse the Mouse on Fab Files today. His whole show was about Ringo. Next week it’s all about Paul. @WETSRoosa, does the Paul show come with a bucket of cold water for Ahhh Girls?
My Ringo buying suggestion : GET THEM ALL. Listen many times over. I Ringo’s voice, drums, music, the whole package!

Nope. You must provide your own buckets. I’m not responsible for any combustible reactions Paul’s fan girls might have.

Wogblog has posted that two long out of print Ringo’s albums, Ringo’s Rotogravure and Ringo The Fourth, have been added to iTunes for download.
Note: a search of itunes reveals that these are currently only available in the US iTunes.

Thanks. While I prefer physical ‘stuff’ I really wonder why his entire output can’t be available in digital form – I can’t imagine it would take more than a few hours of work to digitise it and put it up there. Hopefully what is there will make it down to our itunes one day.

Maybe Ringo figures that since there practically zero interest in either album from the public back when they were released there is even less now so why bother going anywhere bar the US.
More than likely – though a quick look at the prices being asked (and occasionally paid) on ebay would surely make it worth the time to shove up on itunes. Heck, I would do it for him if he sent me copies of the CDs

Hi!
I have Ringo’s CD’s, from Sentimental Journey to Time Takes Time, in russian bootleg editions, in wich each CD has 2 albums.
Now, I’m trying to buy all the original CD’s to have a proper Ringo collection, and if some are easy to find and cheap, others aren’t, they can reach several dozens of dollars/euros at Amazon or eBay.
So, my question is: anybody knows a web site where I can buy these CD’s at a reasonable price (max: 20 dollars/euros)?:
– Ringo The 4th
– Bad Boy
– Stop And Smell The Roses
– Old Wave
Thanks a lot!

@Filipe, i’ve moved your post here as it fits nicely with the others, hopefully you’re ok with that.
Ringo’s middle period catalogue has long been overlooked so its difficult getting most of what you are looking for. I’m not familiar with the Portugal iTunes and amazon (guessing they’re your local stores going by your location) but:
‘Ringo The Fourth’ has recently been added to the US iTunes store, its not in the UK one but it may be in Portugal’s
‘Bad Boy ‘ is available in the UK iTunes so presumably elsewhere – but region variations may again apply.
‘Stop And Smell The Roses’ and ‘Old Wave’ have long been forgotten and fallen out of print. You can probably get both on cd from amazon but adding in p&p will no doubt go over your limit.
All of the albums are available in full on youtube, there are plenty of ways of getting them from there to your listening device just have a google search for how to.
