@sigh butterfly posted this interview http://www.beatlesinterviews.o…..atles.html and I’m just picking out my favourite quotes:
I joined in ’62, and we’d finished touring in ’66 to go into the studio where we could hear each other… and create any fantasy that came out of anybody’s brain.
Q: Do you know what the number one album was? It’s sold the most to date.
[…]
Ringo: If there’s any sense in the world, it’d be Abbey Road .
Q: It was.
Ringo: Good.
You know, I only know three chords and he (George)’d stick four more in, and they’d all think I was a genius. (jokingly) ‘Oh, he’s playing F-diminshed, is he?
I think when we’re ninety-five in wheelchairs they’ll wheel us onto ‘This Is Your Life’ and the introduction will be ‘EX-Beatle Ringo Starr !’
(Only nineteen years to go, Richy)
Someone pointed out, that since we broke up, the only way we can all go is downhill ‘cuz individually none of us will attain what we attained together. And I think that’s a very nice statement. And it wasn’t derogatory or anything, but it’s a fact of life, you know.

I found this statement in that interview interesting: “I’m intelligent*, but uneducated.”
*Actually it was written as intellegent. Who did the writing/editing on that piece?!?!

Hi @Beatlebug there are several George interviews on that site as well. I hadn’t read this one from 1977 since it first came out. George seemed to be in a relaxed mood that day

I read almost every interview on that site before I found out about Beatles Bible. Instead of taking notes in class, I would read Beatles interviews. I don’t regret anything.

Wasn’t sure where to put this, but an interesting article about Ringo’s 1963 Ludwig Jazz Festival snare, and the difficulty of matching it with other Jazz Festival snares.

I was really appreciating Ringo today during my Beatles marathon. She Said She Said is particularly wizard, but EVERYTHING IS GOOD… the only thing that gets in the way of the fabosity is crap early 60’s stereo mixes…
Edit: crap…

So, to show my appreciation for the best Beatle ever, I embarked on a remarkable journey on the 16th of May: to crop every single drum fill in the entire Beatles canon into one long, chronological medley. 2 months (and a non-canon poll) later, I’ve finished. The medley lasts for 49 minutes and 27 seconds, but I did also save it by album too.
If you’d like to hear it, PM me and I’ll give you a link. (I’ve learnt my lesson not to put links up here, they get taken down, which is fair enough).
If you’ve got 50 minutes, it’s definitely worth a listen!

Ringo did just the right number of fills, as he is a legend to know exactly where in the song needs a fill, and where doesn’t.
49 minutes is a while, I agree. But, it’s just a bit more than an album’s length!

I’m not saying that Ringo did too many fills, i’d just prefer to listen to those fills as part of the song and not in a 49 minute medley. Also, 49 minutes is quite a big longer than you’re average 30-35 minute Beatles album, which is the length most of their albums were. But if i change my mind, i’ll make sure to PM you.
