Does anyone know anything about Nancy Lee Andrews who was engaged to Ringo in 1975-80? I never heard of her. Apparently he cheated on her with Barbara Bach which led to a palimony suit against Ringo. Does anyone know of the details? Did Ringo settle and for how much?

No idea. Info about Ringo’s parents (and particularly his father, as even he can’t remember him) is scarce. I think his mom, Elsie, was an older woman when she had him, but I don’t know for sure.

^ I don’t think Zig’s ever been to Liverpool (I think I once passed on some details about visting Mendips ’cause he said he really should go, that’s why I say that).

The simple reason is that Ringo has never been considered as having made an important enough contribution, or else has turned it down. The female equivalent of a Knighthood is a Damehood, so to cite one of our Olympians, as an example, Dame Kelly Holmes, has received the equivalent of a Knighthood.

This pinned thread is intended for any random, quick questions about Ringo.
Previously we had a succession of threads which tended to trail off very quickly. Hopefully they can be kept in one place from now on. Discussion is OK – don’t worry about being brief.

What was Ringo’s relationship with the other Beatles like his relationship with George vs his relationship with John or his relationship with Paul and how do they compare and contrast?

I’m pretty sure he got along really well with all of them pretty equally. When any of the others had a fight they used to all go over to Ringos and make up as it was neutral ground.

This seems like it from what I can tell – and you only have to look at the frequent collaborations after they split up – Ringo appearing on albums by the other three and the number of songs they wrote for him or passed along to him as well as guest appearances and the like. I do think there was a bit of a special bond with George.

I know that his mother Elsie was married to a man named Richard but soon divorced. Ringo says he doesn’t remember much about Richard though. Ringo rivaled with his other father though. While being in the hospital with Appendicitis his new father gave him a drum set for the hospital band. That’s why he became interested and went into Rory Storm and the Hurricanes.

(I’m not sure if this is in the right thread.)
Does anyone know why “This Boy ” is often reffered to as “Ringo’s Theme”? I’ve done a lot of research on the Beatles but I’ve never come across the reason for that.
No one I think is in my tree
