Ringo does it so nicely.
Not to brag, but I pride myself on my singing, and drumming. But, when I do both at the same time it sounds like a giant pile of… well, you know.
Do you think this makes Ringo a more respectable singer (and drumming)? I kind of think so…
When I Twish And Shout, it makes the Girl say "What Goes On?", and than I say, "I do this Here, There and Everywhere", and than she finishes by saying "Honey Don't".

Yeah, I think so too. I don't actually play the drums, but when I play Beatles: Rock Band at Best Buy and try singing Act Naturally , I utterly fail. So either I'm a huge spaz, or Ringo is really talented.
I'm in love, but I'm lazy.

Drummers usually muck it up when they try to sing. I don't know if it's because the untalented singers become drummers or because it's just so hard.
Anyway, Ringo did a good job of it, but his vocal range was really limited.
The best singing by a drummer…go rent The Last Waltz, the Martin Scorcese film about the final concert by The Band. Levon Helm is amazing on “The Night They Drove Ol' Dixie Down.”

Mmmhmm. It's kind of the same concept as how Karen Carpenter sang and drummed, but, unlike Ringo, her vocal range was super wide, and her drumbeats weren't exactly difficult, you know?

Actually when someone asks me what Ringo did in The Beatles that was worth of it, I show them a video of Ringo singing and playing I Wanna Be Your Man live.

I try on Beatles Rockband all the time… and fail miserably. It's too bloody difficult!
I commend you Ringo, for your apparent skills!
…unless they were two separate tracks. Nonetheless, well done!

Well, I drum on Beatles Rock Band all the time. I can do the Expert level on most of the songs. I don't usually sing at the same time, because I can't get the stupid microphone to register my voice. But I can sing in Ringo's range.

Do you mean “What Goes On ?” I don't have “Act Naturally ,” but “What Goes On ” is DLC.

Maybe! I vaguely remember it, but I'm pretty sure the setting was Shea Stadium, so… hmm. Maybe I'm wrong. I know it was a Ringo song though 🙂

The settings aren't always matched up with real life. I wish they would let you upload the REAL Shea concert. That would be cool.

Speaking of Shea Stadium, my great uncle's roommate filmed the whole thing in an amazing camera. The zoom and quality are unbelievable.

I am jealous! How's the sound quality? Or is that part of the general “quality” criteria? I need to see that….

I think that Ringo's great at singing at drumming! I haven't attempted it before, but my brother normally can sing on there (Rock Band 3) and do expert Drums, and he couldn't do them at the same time so I doubt I could. But I think Ringo is very talented with being able to play I Wanna Be Your Man on drums, and sing at the same time!!!!!!!!

I do think this makes Ringo more talented. He’s an amazing drummer, and he sang the best his vocal range would allow, in my opinion quite well. The fact that he can keep them both at those levels while doing the, simultaneously is very impressive. Watching Boys live is good proof.

It’s pretty hard to drum and sing lead at the same time because you can’t miss anything and you’re moving your hands a lot. Same with bass. In my (admittedly limited) experience with guitar, it’s not as hard because you’re normally holding a chord for a few beats rather than moving all over the place. I’d imagine one couldn’t sing while doing a guitar solo though.

Good thing you don’t need to! Hence solo!
But songs like I’m Looking Through You , with frequent chord changes, are somewhat challenging to song and play.
