She Said She Said and hmm prolly Rain as well, and Tomorrow Never Knows . Though I’ve never consider him a fantastic drummer other than those songs.
Crazy talk!

Ringo at the end. That’s all that is required for here if discussing if Ringo was a fantastic drummer or not..
“Fantastic drummer” would be stretching it a bit. But I think he was a lot more capable than some want to give him credit for. One critic said that he ‘couldn’t do a roll’ – and I have already commented (see earler post) on why I know that wasn’t true. And, after alll, he got the surname Starr even before he joined The Beatles, becuase his solo spot was to be called ‘star time’. And check out The Beatles Bible A to Z of the songs – re: ‘The End ‘ (on ‘Abbey Road ‘). Paul is quoted there as admiiting that Ringo did a great solo on that … even if he (surprisingly!) had to be talked into it rather!

He may not be the best drummer in the world but he’s certainly up there as amongst the most innovative – his drumming on Tomorrow Never Knows is just sublime. And he is metronomic in his ability to keep time and lock into a groove – nothing sloppy unless deliberately so. Great at managing changing time signatures in the more complex later stuff too.
