Regardless, the only way these claims could be true is if he meant that he recorded himself drumming over these songs, drumming which clearly was never released and that wasn’t done with The Beatles, maybe he recorded himself covering some of Ringo’s parts at his house.

That is my recollection as well – he claims to have overdubbed his part in a studio in NY and to have been paid cash by Brian Epstein.

As stated above Purdie did overdub recordings of the Beatles, unfortunately for him they were a few of the Tony Sheridan numbers and so no one cares. Brian paying him is a laugh as he would never go against his boys.
