I’d say mono vinyl is unbeatable. Any other way to get the best experience I’d say listen on headphones.

Spotify Premium is my go to. When out of the house I use folding bluetooth headphones which are probably not up to any audiophile’s standards but are fine for my impaired ears. Earbuds just don’t seem to fit properly in my ears and aren’t loud enough for my crummy hearing.
In the house we have a pair of Sonos One speakers which play the Spotify content very nicely.
I sold my vinyl collection 20+ years ago but have started slowly, over the past year or so, building it up again. I’ve got about half of the Beatles U.S. albums now, I try to buy one or two on ebay every month.
I used to prefer vinyl over digital but I think digital has improved massively over the past 10-15 years. Analog is still warmer in some cases but digital is incredibly vibrant now with improved sample rates etc.

My bedroom is basically a Beatles shrine. One of my favorite ways to listen to The Beatles is to light a sage candle in my room, lay down in my bed, and admire the hundreds of Beatle (but mostly Paul) faces staring at me. Other times I close my eyes, but then I have to put the candle out in case I fall asleep, because I don’t like sleeping while candles are lit.

It’s strange to think that in the 90’s you could easily buy Beatles LP’s for around £4. The red and blue albums were everywhere for about £6.
Yeah I was listening to a George interview from the early 90’s about the rerelease of Concert for Bangladesh on CD and George asked “do people even buy records anymore?”, to which the interviewer replied “not really, mostly cassettes and CDs”. How the tides have turned!

Do you think the machine-learning instrument isolation techniques developed for Peter Jackson’s Get Back could be used to remaster the 4-track albums? (Also sorry if this is the wrong place to post this)

@ringowithagun I believe that’s what they used on the Sgt Pepper and White Album songs that used 4-track equipment, or had multiple instruments in one channel (Fixing A Hole , A Day In The Life , Back In The USSR , etc). So, if they used it on those, you’d assume they’ll do the other 4-track albums.
Giles Martin has stated they intend to remix Rubber Soul and Revolver , but that he’s reluctant to do any earlier albums because the separation is too poor. Personally, I think that the technology is good enough, and the lure of more money for Apple, means that they’ll probably end up remixing the whole catalogue, or if not, AHDN onwards.

The jar or the brain? Tho if you forgot the jar and the jar had the brains in it then would that be both or one automatically left behind and the other by circumstance?

Quite the conundrum, trying to remember where you’ve left your brain that holds the memory itself. (Me, I keep my face in a jar, behind an apple)

I listen to stereo vinyl on a 1963 Zenith stereo that my grandmother gave me. I’m still in the process of doing some minor repairs to it. The left speaker didn’t work and then one day I thought “what if i just smack the s**t out of that side” so then i did that. The left speaker works now. I need to get the dust out of the back, and fix the thing that automatically brings the needle to the record. Right now you have the pick the needle arm up and move it up to the record
