The evidence to suggest that they were internalizing at 120 bpm even though there’s no outtake of them counting off is that the first 2 notes of the song are played at this speed, and it’s consistent with the triplet rhythm in the intro which falls on each beat. Internalizing 240 while playing triplets on the half note would be pretty difficult. Internalizing 240 at all is already pretty difficult in itself.
Though who knows, maybe since Ringo’s not playing the intro he’s internalizing 240 while everyone else internalizes 120?
As for I Me Mine , I guess the bpm does double because the beat length is halved and the speed itself doesn’t change (the 8th note is constant throughout).

Okay wait I found a live recording of Paul McCartney playing this live with a count off. The tempo itself is slower, but it does indicate what the beat was considered to be. I doubt that would change overtime.
Also I keep double/triple posting lol

Using that logic Little Child is at BPM = 38.
That video is worth its weight in gold – That totally settles the debate, I’m now convinced it’s 120BPM.

So I need to add another tempo for I Me Mine ?

I compiled a list a few years ago, (see also this thread: https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..other-key/) there are sure to be a few mistakes:
For ease of reference.
I remember you having I Me Mine at 185 originally, and that was definitely the 8th note pulse of the song. So for our tempo we have a dotted quarter pulse, and a dotted eighth pulse.
185 divided by 3 is about 62, and that times 2 is 124.
So the tempo should be 62/124, and since it’s so close to 60/120 I checked that and 60 was just right but 120 was too slow. 130 ended up working better. I guess they did speed up a bit due to human error.

When you cut off people’s sentences at the comma the logic will tend to seem a bit off. My actual argument was saying that in conjunction with the fact that it fits with the triplet intro is what suggests that they’re internalizing 120, even without evidence of the count off. I can’t see any reason they’d be internalizing 240 over the triplet intro especially, and since there’s no tempo change, it follows that they weren’t internalizing 240 at all.
I’m pointing this out because the situations of I’ve Just Seen A Face and Little Child are different, so it’s not a fair comparison.
I know the debate’s settled it just frustrates me that you took half my logic, and then said “using this logic.” That’s definitely something to avoid in future debates.
Also incredibly salty I had to listen to Little Child for this.

Ah yes, of course. I had 185 originally but changed it – I also got it wrong when I changed it so that’s why it’s out. Fixed now

That’s fair. Originally I intended it to be a bit of a joke, but reading back now it makes no sense… I’m sorry if you took it badly.
It’s something that ordinarily I’d totally avoid in debates – I hate people taking half my logic, and I try to avoid doing so as well. I think I omitted half the sentence because I thought it was better to keep the thing I was quoting shorter, but that kinda defeats the purpose. Again, my apologies.
On topic:
Just noticed WDWDIITR was twice too fast, fixed that too

I think I looked them up, @Tangerine, and did a sense check on them. The songs that have mistakes are because I didn’t know the particular songs very well when I did it (2.5 years ago)
