Well I’m very late to this party and I doubt anyone will reply but… referring to the surround sound thing… does this mean that the DVD in the new White Album box set would have the isolated tracks to the ENTIRE White Album ?
The DVD or Blu-Ray will have isolated tracks on them for the different discrete channels. BUT, they will not be isolated instruments because Giles Martin did not mix it like that.

Correct. While the centre channel often gives vocals, bass and drums, no channel is isolated.

There has been a significant source upgrade on these over the last couple of months. You may want to hunt around for those instead of trying to get the original files.
That is also true.
Though the top frequencies are missing on the new files. Each have their benefit.

You can also use OOPS (Out Of Phase Stereo) on the audio, which would give you a rough instrumental of any song. And if you isolate the center in audacity you can usually get the isolated vocals to any song in stereo.
Unless you’re working with Rubber Soul , some of Revolver or some of the White Album .
Definitely a good method for albums like AHDN .

More than that. Please Please Me and With The Beatles have instruments on the left and vocals on the right, so does Sgt. Pepper ‘s title track and half the songs off Yellow Submarine . For those, isolate the channel that lacks vocals.
It’s All Too Much is a special case since the backing track’s centered whereas the vocals are double tracked, with each track having it’s own channel. For this song, you’ll have to go into Audacity and isolate the center channel because OOPSing will give you just the vocals and overdubs.
If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

Also some earlier singles (Love Me Do , Komm Gib Denine Mir Hand, She Liebt Dich, From Me To You , and a few others I believe) have instruments on the left and vocals on the right. For Yellow Submarine you can just use the 5.1 DVD audio, the songs divide beautifully.

Update: Once you get the hang of it, making isolated tracks yourself is easy! For most songs, anyway. Some songs I just can’t get certain instruments out (e.g. the organ in Mr. Moonlight) Usually its a simple process that goes something like this, for most songs in stereo:
Isolate the center of a stereo recording to get the vocals
Remove the center to get a rough instrumental
Isolate the lowest frequencies for bass
Remove the lower frequencies to eliminate bass, and the higher ones would usually be drums and guitar. For guitar, use the lowest frequency of the now bass-less instrumental, which should eliminate most sound from the drums (NOTE: USUALLY THE DRUMS AND GUITAR WILL BLEED INTO EACH OTHER, THIS IS NORMAL AND NO NEED TO FRET) and isolating the highest frequency should give you drums.

hello, I know this topic was ages ago, but i can’t seem to find the multitracks available for download absolutely anywhere. Is there anybody who could possibly send them to me? I would be so thankful.
Hi @bulldog909.
One of the forum rules is that we do not allow file sharing due to the normal reasons of legality etc and we do not want to put Joe or the site at risk or legal action. I hope you can understand that.
Welcome to the forum.

@meanmistermustard fair enough. any idea where i could find the multitracks in question?
Sorry but I genuinely have no idea. If you look around you may find some fan bootleg sites where you can request them, there maybe a few which may be helpful. I do apologise that I/we cannot be of further use but here has a clear policy of not promoting or sharing such files.

If you search around on eBay, I’m sure you could find one. I’ve run into several in my searches. I’ve never bought one though, so there’s not a specific one I can recommend, although I do have one in my sights. If I buy it and it’s good, I’ll let you know.

Why buy them when you’re paying someone who has no legal right to sell them and they almost certainly had no influence in their release except for burning them to a CD?
The files are freely available on the net and have been for over a decade.
