I’ve been trying to learn this song and have been having a bit of trouble with the pattern for the verse/chorus. The bridge/middle seems fairly straight-forward (all down-strums and picking the root note at the “waltz” part). Anyways what I’ve been trying is
Verse:
Down-Down-Up-Down-Up-Down-(hammer-on the Dsus4)-Up Down-Down-Up Down-Up-Down-Up(hammer-on) Down-Down (change to C)Down-Down-Up-Down-Up (back to D) Down-Down-Up-Down-Up
Chorus:
Down-Up-Down-Up (G-to-D) Down (D-to-G) Down-Up-Down-Up (D-to-A) Down
Anyone with experience playing this know a more accurate pattern (or if this is anywhere near correct?)? I’m relatively new at playing guitar (well, have been playing for close to a year) so I apologize if the pattern I wrote above isn’t entirely clear. Anyways can someone please help me work it out (sorry, couldn’t resist >_>

The promo isn’t going to be accurate as they are just miming. George didn’t play on the record, and it is definitely not a 335 as John was using an acoustic prob. his J-160E. I haven’t analysed the video intently but there are some places where it doesn’t match.
Oh and welcome

Thanks, glad to be here!
I did try to look at some videos of Paul McCartney playing it live (The MTV Unplugged one in particular) but had a hard time determining it from that, I’ll give it another go though. I’ve mostly learned by looking up some tutorials on Youtube, but most of them seem to be doing something different and none of them sound quite “right” to me either. The pattern I’ve been trying myself (kind of a mish-mash of everything I’ve seen suggested) sounds okay to me but still off in some parts like the part of the verse in C. Maybe I’m just trying to be too much of a perfectionist though.
