Apart from “I Feel Fine “, were there any other songs where John or George play their Gibson J160E guitars plugged in?

Since it’s a “plug-in” acoustic guitar, was it not always plugged in?
I don’t recall G Emerick discussing this topic in his book, but maybe I missed it.
He would be da man!

Sofinesunshine, you’ll be interested in this little piece from Guitar Aficionado (discussing George’s guitars):
Both George and John bought a Gibson J160E.
John’s was stolen at some point, after which George and John shared the remaining one.
It’s the only guitar played on every Beatle album.
The pickup was moved back and forth a couple of times.
No mention of when it was plugged in.
(In case anyone ever offers to sell it to you, the serial # is 73161)

I never knew that guitar was used on every album. Interesting.

I’ve recently bought and watched the new iTunes App where Dhani describes some of George’s guitars. It was very interesting.
You get the Jumbo, 12 string Ricky (the first one) the black Jet , the Fender Strat that was first pale blue and then George painted, the Let It Be Telecaster…..
There are facts and great photos on each one and some sound clips. Then both Dhani and guests play these guitars and you get to hear how they sound. Hearing the Ricky is brilliant but it only had one good tone – THAT tone you know and love.
Regarding the Jumbo: John’s was stolen around Christmas 1965, but because his and George’s were the same, no one noticed for ages until they both wanted their own! Receipts prove the one George owned until his death (and of course the Harrison estate still own) is actually John’s!!!!

Expect news of a lawsuit any minute now. There must be a beatle based song pun in there somewhere.—————–
Ha ha! As soon as I read it I had images of Yoko contacting Olivia! Seriously…….. its actually be known for years…….
Dhani is supposed to be adding other guitars too. What I’m puzzled about, for now, is George’s second 12 string Ricky (the one he used on the 1966 tour). For distinction: the first had a square edging to the body and the second had a rounded edging. That’s how I easily separate them anyway!

I reckon Zig could do a rewrite of Not Guilty on this subject. How about it Zig – up for a challenge?

It was actually stolen at the end of 1963. Lennon got a new one during their 1964 US tour, and played it throughout The Beatles’ career. The Fool painted it in psychedelic colours in 1967, but it was stripped back the following year for the White Album sessions. At the Amsterdam bed in he drew pictures of him and Yoko on it. She still has the guitar today (info from Andy Babiuk’s Beatles Gear).

MJB replies:
Now that is really interesting Joe. Dhani actually tells the listener the tale I’ve told! So who do we believe? The number on the back of the guitar the Harrison’s have corresponds to the number on John’s receipt – that what he tells us. Oh well, another Beatle story lost in time I guess 🙂

We could have a Harry Hill* inspired resolution to these differing accounts.
“Now, I like the one of John getting a replacement, painting it, stripping it back, then drawing on it in 1969, but i also like Dhani’s account of George keeping John’s and having the receipt to prove it.
But which is right?
There’s only way to find out.

Joe – that’s brilliant. Let’s just hope Zig sees this before falls back off the top.
As for the guitar, why are the two answers incompatible? Well, they aren’t, really. John’s guitar could have actually been George, and George’s John’s, but Lennon gets a new one, paints it, strips it, draws it. I don’t think either are mistaken.
As if it matters how a man falls down.'
'When the fall's all that's left, it matters a great deal.
They are both correct, apart from the dates. John thought his guitar was stolen, and got a new one in 1964. However, the guitar was actually George’s. Dhani is right (though I haven’t seen the iPad app yet).

Not guilty
For stealing John’s guitar
Who the Hell do you think you are?
Not guilty
Thought it was George’s Jumbo
Give me a break Ms. Ono
I know that you and your son Sean
Are just trying to protect John
But if you think your getting this guitar
You won‘t get very far
Not guilty
No use handing us a writ
You two are so full of _ _it
If you expect to win this suit
And wipe out all of Georges loot
I’m really sorry you‘re out of your head
‘Cause like you heard me said
Not guilty
*Dhani plays solo on the Gibson Jumbo*
Not guilty
For pinching the Gibson
Get away, you and your son
Not guilty
If you don’t go away
I will sell it on eBay
I won’t upset you any more
You only want what you can get
I’m really sorry you‘re out of your head
‘Cause like you heard me said
Not guilty

Quite a few actually:
Ask Me Why (George, John uses his acoustically)
Please Please Me (John and George)
Do You Want To Know A Secret (John and George)
From Me To You (John and George)
Thank You Girl (John and George)
She Loves You (John, George uses his Gretsch)
All I’ve Got To Do (John, George uses his Gretsch)
I Feel Fine (John, George uses his Gretsch)
Strawberry Fields Forever (possibly John (might be John’s Casino though), George has a very limited guitar part that is so minuscule, it’s not even worth trying to tell what guitar it is and Paul plays a guitar solo on his Casino)
If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.
