REDD console plugins, for that Abbey Road sound: http://www.waves.com/content.a…..x?id=12064
I was at Abbey Road Studios last month (forgot to publish the photos, sorry) and there was an old REDD desk in the hallway. At least I think it was – gunmetal grey with the old-style faders etc.
Anyway, there are various audio plugins around that let people emulate the 1960s sound. When they come up please post links here.

I sent that link to my brother, who knows a fair bit about music tech. He told me some interesting stuff:
Waves are a really pretty dodgy company. They are an Israeli operation who got loads of US $$$ to develop “defence” stuff, and Waves is a spin-off company who are using some of that tech in an audio DSP way. Plug-in effects paid for by the war machine!
They also have a policy of paying people to pose as recording artists to try and find studios who are using hooky plugs. This I think is dishonest and wasting of recording studios’ time, and too far to go just to catch some warez kiddie!
Waves plugs used to be known as the best, but that’s long-since changed.
I bet it won’t make anyone sound anything like the Beatles/Floyd etc! Not anymore than any other high-end plug anyway. But it looks cool.
