So the other day I was in the car with my best friend after swim practice and I had control of the aux. She suggested that I put on “Let ‘Em In,” a Wings song that she recently discovered for herself and found out she really enjoys. I was ecstatic, because I love it when my friends start partaking in things that I also love, so I said “Yes, of course! I have it downloaded on my phone [on Apple Music].” So I opened up Apple Music and searched my library for the song, but the version that came up on my phone was from Pure McCartney. I thought “Huh, that’s odd. At the Speed of Sound should’ve come up because I had the album downloaded.” Confused, I searched my library for ATSOS— it showed up, but when I tapped on it, all the songs were greyed-out and when I tried to tap on one a thing popped up saying “This track is not available in you’re country and/or region.”
Very angry and confused, I continued to investigate and found out that not only was At the Speed of Sound taken off of Apple Music but so was Venus And Mars and Back To The Egg . I was livid, considering how much I love Venus and Mars. And sure, I have the tracks that are on the greatest hits compilations, but what about the less popular tracks that I enjoy? And maybe I can just pop over to Spotify for a quick listen, but that’s silly considering I pay $10/month because of Apple Music’s claim to have “over 45 million songs,” and I can’t even listen to albums by one of my favorite artists? Does anyone have a clue to what could possibly be going on? Are any other Apple Music users experiencing this?

Well, that’s why I prefer to own all my favorite music outright, rather than relying on streaming services. They can take the music off their service, but they can’t take it off my iPod.

You are basically paying Apple or whoever you stream from to borrow the music until either you stop paying them or the songs are removed for whatever reason whether you like it or not. Stop paying and you left with nothing. Like Duke of Kirkcaldy, I would rather buy the songs/albums and know I have them for all eternity than stream. Yes, I cannot access 45 million songs instantly but when thought over, I doubt I could think of 1% of those songs to actually want to play (taking out the songs I already own).
Amazon Music gave me three months free access to it after buying someone a Christmas present, I never use it.

There was a similar thing about Wings Over America and half of Back To The Egg disappearing from Spotify last year. As of present WOA is back, but now only Baby’s Request is available from Egg. Some kind of MPL rights issues maybe?

Are reissues/remasters of these LPs in the works for Macca? Only reason I could think of…
The Archive Collection has now reissued all Wings albums except London Town and Back To The Egg (and, according to WogBlog, both are rumored for an end-of-year release), so not having any of their other albums on file besides those two makes no immediate sense to me…

‘Flaming Pie ‘ is said to be the next release, coming in July. I don’t see the archive collection being so quick that the next set comes six months later, they are dragging them out so slowly that I’d be surprised if anything else sees the light afterwards until 2021 (unless we get some pointless re-release of something already archived).
There is also the matter of the 50th anniversary of ‘McCartney’ in April. We got the archive release about 87 years ago it feels so will there be anything to recognise that outside of a few official tweets, a question that’s been answered 48 times before being answered again by Paul when he was tying his shoelaces, and a playlist on Spotify? There must be more to come out of the vaults considering the original bonus tracks were so unexciting, all three of them (the others being later live recordings).

Yeah, this is one of the prime reasons why I don’t rely on streaming services. Ringo’s “Stop And Smell The Roses” and “Old Wave” have never been on any major streaming service that I’m aware of.

Back To The Egg doesn’t appear to be on amazon music. Pretty much everything else Paul has released under his own name or the Wings banner is though I think

Back To The Egg is still missing on AM too, though Wings At the Speed of Sound and Venus And Mars have come back some time ago. Also some time ago they took all the bonus tracks off of Ram .

Doubt ‘Back To The Egg ‘ will reappear until it’s released in Archive form.

No, but they can put it on your phone.
I have no idea how many times I have deleted that awful U2 album ‘Songs of Innocence’ yet it keeps returning on my iPhone. I never even bought the damn thing.

That’s the one iTunes gave away for free. Don’t know if you’ve tried this, but Apple did come up with a way to permanently delete it.
- Go to http://itunes.com/soi-remove.
- Click Remove Album to confirm you’d like to remove the album from your account.
- Sign in with the Apple ID and password you use to buy from the iTunes Store.
- You’ll see a confirmation message that the album has been removed from your account.
If you haven’t tried to do it that way, it may be the answer to the curse of the boomerang U2 album.

Went on. Said to try again later as it wasn’t working.

I’ve tried and failed with many different albums that I converted to non apple encoded files. Now they show up as duplicates. Once I figured out how to disable it and did it to that U2 album but I can’t remember how to get back
