I’ve listened to “Bip Bop” probably 500 times in my life, but usually I’m playing along on my guitar, so I guess I haven’t listened that closely to little things.

Today I was just listening to it with my undivided attention, and at one point I could swear I hear the telltale sound of a deep bass string — on the big old standup acoustic bass — make that gravelly sound it does when it vibrates its fat string against the wood.  This is a sound I’ve heard many times on other songs, that happen to use a standup bass (mostly jazz).

So I wonder if Paul played both electric and acoustic bass on that song (tracking over of course)?

The electric bass is pretty obvious in that song.

Faded flowers, wait in a jar, till the evening is complete... complete... complete... complete...
