Though I would add the way Paul pronounces ‘never care’ in Here There And Everywhere .

I love ‘writing 50 times I must not be so’, from Maxwell’s Silver Hammer , the way he laughs during that line. I imagine he was thinking about a funny moment from his childhood when he sang that line. I just love Macca full stop. So talented, yet so humble. The guy is a genius. The whole concept of Sgt Pepper was his idea too, and that is obviously a classic album. I’ll repeat,GENIUS!

My theory is that he turned around to see Yoko doing something silly on her double bed (that she was lying on in the studio after the car accident)

Haha, quite possibly. Yoko was certainly a character. Having Yoko in the studio must have been a hard thing to get used to, given that they didn’t normally allow wives in there. I’m not of the opinion that she split the band up,as a lot of people seem to believe. I just think they weren’t enjoying it anymore, and splitting was just the natural thing to do

Someone on the forum (@Necko?) once intimated their hypothesis was that John mooned him right after the word ‘behind’ from the previous line. I have never been able to un-think of that since.

Hahahaha. Yeah, that sounds like something that Lennon would do, for sure.
I will also add Hey Jude to my previous post,as I love the way he sings that, from start to finish. Bloody brilliant

I’ve read that John mooned but have also read that the story is nonsense. I cannot remember where or who but it was a credible source, as unhelpful as that is.

Without Paul McCartney there would have been no Beatles, as there would have been no Beatles without John Lennon . Paul’s relationship with John Lennon was the key creative tension and collaboration. Their musical marriage was the core of the spirit of the Beatles, which ultimately is about music, though it has had many other layers of meaning added to it, quite rightly. I have the greatest admiration for Paul McCartney , and all the other Beatles, but I sympathise with Paul he was trying to hold it all together when John kicked off in spring 1968, effectively using Yoko to do the breaking up for him. But in the end Paul had to “Let it Be”, as he was seen as overbearing and controlling and that wound them up. Sadly by 1969 he was flogging a dead horse, but I cant blame him for trying.

I’m really pleased that he wasn’t taken in by Allen Klein,as the other 3 were, and did what he had to do to protect the band’s musical legacy. Going to court, going through all that stuff, against 3 men that he’d basically grown up with, and loved for so many years, that must have been a tough decision to have to make, and I for one am immensely proud of him for making it
