I just ordered a RAM T-shirt (I like the yellow) in honor of Sir Paul’s birthday.
I have never tired of his songs – and never tired of telling people about them.

Yes, sweater vests can be cool! – and super practical (but who wants practical…)

I think that’s part of why I like them – I think they’re a nice blend of the stylish and the practical. I’m always cold, but I also don’t like sleeves getting in my way, so a button-down shirt with rolled-up sleeves and a sweatervest is basically my uniform at this point.

I see that Paul was ranked by Rolling Stone as the #9 bassist of all time, after only Jaco Pastorius, Larry Graham, Jack Bruce, Carol Kaye, Bootsy Collins, John Entwistle, Charles Mingus and James Jamerson. Pretty hard to complain about being in the company of those folks.

Indeed, if he had only ever played on the Paperback Writer / Rain single he might still have made the list…

Nice to see Carol Kaye get credit she deserves, although I don’t think I consider her a top ten bassist of all time.

@Pablo Ramon
Come to think of it, in that list of the greatest bass players, how many were front men who sang and played bass at the same time?
Clearly Jack Bruce.
Anyone else?
Maybe bass players who sing (sang) should be in their own category (and I would consider Sting)

Can’t forget Rick Danko!
The absolute man. His voice could turn the pages of time, as could Richard and Levon’s. The Band just has an amazing sound that comes from an authentic place from each band member. Thanks WeepyC. How could forget the bass player to two of my favorite bands. I also forgot to mention Brian Wilson!

The box set from his archive collection came with a RAM shirt. I still have it, but it’s not yellow. It’s like a brownish gray color, so I can only wear it to sleep in. Also the color makes it hard to put away because it doesn’t look right with my gray shirts because it’s almost not gray. ):

When I didnt knew about The Beatles of all 4 of them Paul MCartney was the most reconizable for me. He stood out because of his presence, his attitude towards the fans (always Kind and funny) and him playing the bass left Hand. I must say I didnt recognize John at all from the earlier stuff when I didnt know them because I’ve mostly had seen Pictures of him from the 70’s or late 60’s with Long hair.
I love Paul (love all 4 of Course). I’ve just watched the carpool Karaoke with James Corden again yesterday before sleeping and he is AMAZING in that Video. He seems so incredible down to earth and sympathic. Its great. I always get wet eyes when he is at Penny Lane , visiting the Barber and his old house. The reaction of the People is so great and respectfull and his responds are too.
He carries (the weight) of the legacy of the Beatles. Ringo does too but he is not as active and present in public as Paul is. For his age he is incredibly vital and alive. My grandma is some years younger then him and doesnt come near his vitality.
I think after John passed on Paul really took it upon himself to carry on with the Beatles Legacy and I think that this beside their huge influence and amazing Music is part of why they are still as beloved and known as they are.
To attend one of his concerts would be a dream come true. Maybe when Corona is gone there will be a Chance.
I hope and pray for him to stay healthy and safe for many many many many more years!
