I’ve noticed in the past, Paul would play, “I Saw Her Standing There ” rather fast… But these days, he plays it rather differently. Before I assume anything, I wanted to get the forum’s feedback.. Note, I am a huge Macca fan, but this is bothering me and any explanation (I don’t play the guitar unfortunately) would be great!
Fast forward to now:

(2015)
Thanks again! 🙂

Wont answer your question but the Beatles playing fast is addressed in the Anthology series. A quote from John below and i’m sure Paul speaks about it as well (before we get a clip of ‘All My Loving ‘ is how i remember it), not that i can find it. Maybe someone else can.
JOHN: The Beatles were famous for doing fifteen-minute shows; we could speed it up to fifteen minutes over in America. Fifty thousand people, and we’d be off. That was our record. We got our kicks from seeing how fast we could do the whole show. And if we were really counting them in too fast, or were too speedy to deal with it, we’d run off and realise we’d only been on fifteen minutes.

Speed literally gave them speed, but looking at those videos, I don’t notice a massive difference. And I didn’t notice him playing ‘slowly’ yesterday; seemed like the same speed as the album to me. But then, I probably wouldn’t have noticed with all the adrenaline pumping through my veins!
