Ok, everyone EVERY Beatles fan knows Ringo’s drumming is underrated, BUT Paul’s bass playing is even more underrated…. John Lennon once said “Ringo’s Drumming Is Underrated Just Like Paul’s Bass Playing” What Y’all Think

It’s not as underrated as John’s guitar playing

It’s not underrated. Everyone who knows what they’re talking about knows that Paul is one of the best bassists ever. John wasn’t wrong, but in the last 35 years Paul’s bass has received a remarkable amount of praise.

Depends on who’s doing the rating. Who’s scale of worth are we using?

pauls an incredible bass player, but he didn’t always get it right. There were also times where his playing was too busy for me and detracted a bit from my enjoyment of the song.
To my ears, Paul actually is a relatively conservative bass player and doesn’t get too flashy. In a few particular songs he went to town with experimentation, but most of the time he grounds the song well. There are a couple of bassists I like better — Peter Cetera and Paul Jackson — maybe another one or two I can’t think of right now; but Paul is right up there in my top 5 for sure.

I’d say Paul was underrated by non-bassists, if at all. And AD40 is right, compared to Paul, John’s musicianship is practically invisible.

Starr Shine?I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.
