Welcome back Scrambledeggs! (Coincidentally I’m eating scrambled eggs at this very moment). I’m so jealous you got to see Pauland your recount was great!
If he does a tour next year and he does a UK date, I’m going, I don’t care, I’ll sleep in an airport for the night if it means I get to see him live!

*begins freaking out*
I must see him before I die. I must see him before I die.
*gradually calms down*
@ScrambledEggs, that sounded fantastic!!!! It’s wonderful that you had that experience, and thanks for writing it up as I got to experience it vicariously…
Oh, and I’m glad to see you again in these parts… It always makes me happy when a user from before my time who disappeared returns.

@ScrambledEggs. Great to see you around these foreign parts again and delighted to hear you got to see Paul and had such a great time. Can’t believe its been almost a year – it feels like longer to be honest what with whats been going on.
Wont load a grenade of questions your way but hopefully you’ll stick around a bit and post a bit more often. One question i do wish to ask however (and its in the wrong thread but life is for living) is how is the music playing going? Last thing i heard (going off my memory which sucks more than a baby sucking her dummy) is that you had been giving an opportunity to play at a cafe kind of place.

Yes, it’s what’s kept me going this past year actually, playing pubs and also shopping malls. I’ve been doing a lot more recording also!
Also thank you Silly Girl (can’t do the mention option from the phone for some reason), for your kind words!

I’ll join you *puts teddy bear in backpack*.
Here’s a Paul-related Pet Peeve (oooh alliteration): The amount of people on his FB asking for Paul to come back to Brazil- how many bloody times has he been to Brazil?!? He’s gone twice on this tour already and in 6 different cities! So it’s not as if he just played Rio and then went on to somewhere else!
Spare a thought for the Australian fans who haven’t seen him in 22 years!

He’s not been to my house for at least 33 years!!! The emotional trauma alone surely deserves a visit.
If he ever visits your house, can I pop over seeing as you’re just down the road from me?

Sure. It might be a while before i let you know tho as either i will be too delirious to type in any recognised language or i will have entered a cycle of passing out.

That’s grand, my brother is training to be a nurse so I can bring him over to bring you back to your senses.
What if you were passed out and Paul rang the doorbell and nobody answered so he thought nobody was home and then he left. The scones would have gone to waste!

Rapid sellout of McCartney tickets sparks new legislation
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Next month’s Paul McCartney concert in Buffalo sold out in just 3 1/2 minutes. That same day, tickets started showing up on the secondary market for ten times face-value.
Now, New York Senator Charles Schumer wants to stop cyber scalpers who use bots, software applications, to scoop up tickets as soon as they go on sale.
(snip)Senator Schumer got a lot of complaints from Paul McCartney fans, so he is pushing for legislation to fine anyone who uses a bot to beat the system. Schumer hopes that with bipartisan support, Congress will pass the law by the end of the year making it illegal to use a bot to buy tickets for any event online.
While it’s too late for Paul McCartney fans, Schumer thinks the threat of a fine will stop the bots.
“They sell a thousand tickets illegally, it’s a million dollar fine. They’re not making that much profit and it ain’t worth it for them,” says Schumer.
Fines would apply to the person using the bot as well as the ticket seller. Schumer says a federal law would make it easier for the Department of Justice and F.B.I. to use technology they already have to crack down on the cyber scalpers since many bots aren’t in the same state as the concert venues.
Michael McCartney (lol) is the president of Digits L.L.C., a local cyber security firm. He says with technology constantly changing, investigators have their work cut out for them.
“It’s a difficult task because it’s so easy to make yourself appear like you’re coming from somewhere other than where you are. By using a compromised computer, I can be in Buffalo, jump onto a computer that’s compromised in California, and then go and buy tickets in Ohio, and then sell them in Florida,” says McCartney.
He says there is even software you can buy to build your own bot net to trick online ticket sellers into thinking you’re not cheating the system. The bots can beat captcha, the code you’re asked to enter on many sites to be able to buy something. McCartney says efforts are underway to figure out new security measures to stop them.
“Text verification where you’re asked to put in a phone number. You’re then sent a text with a code that you have to put in. Others are math problems where you have to solve a math problem,” says McCartney.
Paul McCartney tickets at face value started at $29.50 plus fees. If you don’t want to see the stage, you can now get a ticket for $254 on Stub Hub or you can fork over more than $8,500 to be front and center on the floor.

How to keep Paul happy. The things he asks for when on tour…
No rock ‘n’ roll demands of alcohol or cigarettes from the former Beatle, just some very specific requirements when it comes to lighting and floral arrangements. Apparently McCartney requires 6 “full and leafy” floor plants (no trees) – and the plants must be as full on the bottom as the top, specifically stating no tree trunks. He also asks for one large arrangement of white Casablanca lilies with lots of foliage; one long stemmed arrangement of pale pink and white roses; one arrangement of freesia (apparently freesia is a favourite).

The question is though, how much of that article is actually true? Most of it it hearsay and/or taken from tabloids. I wouldn’t call those reliable sources.
Still, even if Paul actually has those demands, which would be quite silly of him, they pale in comparison to some of the others…

Ahhh Girl, BeatlebugTo the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.
So, did we all know that Paul uses a lyrics prompt during live shows? I guess it’s not too surprising, but I remember him forgetting the words to We Can Work It Out during the Unplugged show, and it was quite charming. So how long has he had the words on a monitor screen?
Edit: it looks like there are a few on stage, one for each performer, so perhaps it’s to avoid a missed cue or someone playing the wrong section of a song. It’s probably quite difficult, if you’re playing Hey Jude night after night, to always remember which part of the song you’re at. Stakes are too high to screw up.
