Just making it to the concert was a highlight. The train was down due to electrical problems which caused traffic delays in the downtown area, which made my wife 30 minutes late to pick me up. She encountered a wreck, people running red lights, and pedestrians running across the street with moving traffic. We bought a ticket for the train, then realized none of them were in service, and there were several hundred people waiting to board shuttle buses…so we said, “No, this isn’t happening” and drove to the concert instead. But when we got there, we realized we needed cash in order to park. So, my wife had to drop me off at an ATM in a “no drop off” zone where a security guard made her move the car, and I almost got hit by a car crossing the street to the ATM.

The whole concert was just a delight, though. I think a highlight was getting to visit with Ahhh Girl, because I haven’t heard much from her lately.

ahdn_paul_06What an ordeal, ExTex! You know you’re a hardcore concert goer when…

AG and ExTex – great reviews, thanks for helping me relive the Albany show. Some people complain that it’s the same show every night with little variation, but I think it’s great beacause all of us who’ve seen this tour can relate to the experience.

AG I can’t imagine what the sound check must have been like. How flippin’ cool was THAT?!?! Seeing Paulie run through some songs not on the set list in a more intimate setting AND getting fed – wow. So happy for you. Too bad about no McContact but I totally get it with the virus scare going on in Dallas.

So glad you both had a great time – and thanks for the pics!

The highlight for me was during the sound check when Paul looked at the lady from the Cement Mixers group and said, “This is a long way from the Cavern, isn’t it?” He paused, and the place was very quiet. Paul’s whole career and life passed before my eyes. The one and only Paul McCartney . Though we were many rows away from him, at that moment the place did seem small and that we were near him. No, I’m not over that moment yet. I hope I never get over it…or at least not for a long time.

My experience wasn’t quite as profound as that one, but towards the end when Paul was playing guitar and no one else was standing near to him, I went back in time and imagined John and George next to him. I could almost make it out in my mind’s eye. Then it struck me, “Wow, I’m seeing Paul McCartney .” He just seems so down to earth and casual about everything that it’s easy to forget how important he is.

Paul is a finalist for Top Boxscore in Billboard’s Touring Awards:

The Top Boxscore category honors the top-grossing single engagement by an artists. The finalists include One Direction for their May shows in Dublin, The Rolling Stones for their February-March Tokyo Dome engagement, and Paul McCartney for his November shows at the Tokyo Dome.

That was an embarrassment I tell you, for the 3-nights or however long they played each evening the news presenters spent about 10 mins interviewing hyperventilating Directioners- I wanted to hear about taxes goddammit! How dare they try and have some light-hearted fun, I want to hear about the water charges! *smashes fist on desk* Up with austerity!

Hi Beatles Family…  I had the great fortune of seeing Paul in Dallas.  I’ve looked for a set list from that show…but only find generic set lists from his Out There concerts.  The let lists i find online does not list, I Saw Her Standing There .  Am I delusional…because I swear I thought he sang that song…  Oh Gosh, it sucks getting old…I cant remember anything.:)

Please help! restore my memory for those of you that were also there:)

He didn’t sing that one.

From Paul’s Facebook:

Paul has partnered with Jaunt to allow fans to watch ‘Live And Let Die ‘ in an immersive 360-degree virtual environment at his recent Candlestick Park concert.

The app puts you right in the crowd, onstage, backstage, or even right by Paul’s side in the midst of the song’s climactic pyro!
