Question:  This video of his November 2013 Japan tour shows Paul and his band backstage minutes before the show playing around singing some song where Paul says “wooly wooly” over and over.  What is it?  It sounds vaguely like a reggae version of the 60s hit “Wooly Bully”…

Anyone from this forum going to be at Paul’s show in Dallas on October 13th?

Just shouting it out now so later  (after the show and on this forum or PM)  we can re-live it and discuss our thoughts :)  heart

Paul McCartney still rocking us at 72.

From billboard.com
Hot Tours: Paul McCartney Is No. 1 With Sold Out U.S. Tour

Image Enlarger

Paul McCartney earns the No. 1 slot on the weekly Hot Tours tally based on ticket sales reported from his recent trek through U.S. cities during July and August.

The six-week jaunt was the Out There tour’s third leg in North America since the tour began in May 2014. With concerts at eight arenas and four stadiums during this summer’s run, ticket sales totaled $38.7 million, bringing the overall gross to $150 million from 40 reported shows during the tour’s 15-month span.

San Francisco’s Candlestick Park is the Out There tour’s top-grossing venue in this tally, with $7 million in sales from a crowd of 53,477 fans. It is also the highest gross from any North American venue during the tour’s entire run. The sold-out performance on Aug. 14 was the final concert to be held at the famed Bay Area stadium that will soon be demolished. The event also marked McCartney’s return to the site where the Beatles played their last official concert in 1966.

Three more stadiums were on the 2014 summer schedule for the Out There tour. McCartney also sold out Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Aug. 10 with more than $5.2 million in revenue from 52,605 sold seats. Target Field in Minneapolis hosted the legendary rocker on Aug. 2 with a packed stadium crowd of 43,143, and the performance at the University of Montana’s Washington-Grizzly Stadium hit the record books as the largest concert in Montana history. His sold out show on Aug. 5 at the Missoula stadium drew 25,192 fans — 1,423 more than the Rolling Stones concert on Oct. 4, 2006 during the band’s A Bigger Bang tour.

1. Has Paul been on this same tour for like a year?  How long has he been on this tour?

2.  Has any other musician or music band in history ever toured this long on a single tour?

From Paul’s website

http://www.paulmccartney.com/l…../out-there

The tour began on 4 May 2013.

This thread was created a little over two weeks before that date. We’re good. a-hard-days-night-john-1

I saw my Paul/Beatles birthday on the list: 26 May 2013.

In searching around for this information, I found a thread I need to merge into this one.

EDIT: make that 2 threads.

Wow, Ahhh Girl, so it’s been over a year!  It seems like no other musician or music band has ever toured that long!  Paul must have set a Guinness record with this…

There are rumors that Paul will be touring Argentina and Brazil later this year.

I was really hoping for UK/Europe dates in November and December. He hasn’t toured the UK since 2011 yet he’s been to South America at least 2 times on the Out There Tour already. I presume this is because they get more money from those shows and that’s what it’s all about for Pauls team.

I don’t know…he’s playing some huge stadia, but I saw him in a professional basketball arena (which is large, but not nearly the size of a baseball stadium or large football arena).  So I don’t think money is his primary goal – there were 4 much larger venues within 3 hours of Indianapolis (I think he played one of them in Chicago).

In less than three weeks I’ll be seeing Paul.

And so will a certain other person here.

If you’re going to Paul‘s concert in San Diego Sunday, it’s recommended you take the train (and I can attest it’s a lovely trip).

My poster is ready for the concert. For this, that, and the other reasons I am not going to reveal it to you all now. I will post it after the concert.
