Perhaps he will change the title when he puts out his next album.
Let’s hope he goes to Glasgow, Dublin, Cardiff, and some of the others places where our UK/European members are.

A report about the Paulbany soundcheck and merchandise booth.
Also:
There are conflicting reports about whether or not Paul did Appreciate during the main show, with most saying no. Hope that changes.

Very odd choice to add On My Way to Work, which doesn’t have a video, but not Early Days or Appreciate which do. I can’t figure out his logic.

Maybe it was to generate interest in the album.

My contribution of an article about the concert in Albany last night, but it has minor spoilers, so be warned: new article!.
Yes, a couple did get engaged: video here if you want to see it. Plus all sorts of things are popping up on YouTube now. Smart shtick, being 64 and all, I knew that would get them on stage. They had purposeful signs. How lucky, to meet Paul and hug him and be on his stage and get his blessing. Man. Paul even read about someone’s 25-year anniversary sign…!
Bonus for me! I have to take these little things instead of the big thrills, I guess:
I got to Albany early and I randomly wandered into some walkway that ended up at an entrance area on the side of the venue… and I saw Paul rehearsing on a screen… uh, the pre-show soundcheck! Whoa. I could hear through the crack in the door, too. I didn’t feel guilty since no one shooed me away and I don’t feel let down for knowing a little bit of what was coming up. I feel really lucky, I don’t have money to see Paul in a special circumstance like that and I got something cool to remember.
I only saw Paul once in 93 before this so I don’t know what his concerts are typically like or if he’s changing things, but I was very surprised. Spoilers!
A couple of Wings songs I did not expect, yet there were no 80s/90s songs! He did a LOT of Beatles songs, and he even made a sort of joke about how “everyone cheers the new songs, but everyone REALLY cheers the old ones… I see what’s what!” or something like that. A few highlights, IMO: he sang “All Together Now ” with a very cute and funny video of colourful jumping blobs with eyes, and I was singing along and laughing the whole time; very unexpected. I feel he played a lot of sweet or bubbly songs, one being “On My Way To Work” which I find mid-60s-whimsical. No, he did NOT play “Appreciate”. He brought out his original 60s yellowish guitar (don’t ask me the model) for Paperback Writer and spoke about the tremolo bar and Jimi Hendrix, and they even jammed into “Foxy Lady”. Paul sang “Here Today ” for John, an amazing song I’d forgotten, and he broke into “Something ” for George by opening with a little word about him and this ukelele that he had given Paul, and he started the song with it and it went into full band backup. Meanwhile, they showed what looked like personal photos of George (were they Paul’s?) on the screen, photos I’d never seen before of George (I’d been on a Beatles Hiatus for years, so I have no idea what’s published; I’m catching up!). It was very moving and I miss GH. I feel like Paul is playing for The Beatles now.
The only weird thing was that I think the crowd could’ve/should’ve been more excited; things seemed flat, if you can believe it. I couldn’t. I felt bad! So please, if you see his next shows, have more enthusiasm. I purposely decided not to hear anything New yet (ah haha), to be surprised, so I was thrilled. Like, this old guy next to me seemed irritated that I was singing, screaming, clapping… geez mister, I’m at a Paul concert, ex-Beatle, he’s famous and great ya know. This all seemed very different than 93. Is it because everyone’s getting so old???

Oh I know I write a lot, but I can’t resist.
In the Albany capital complex, there is a lot of late 60s/early 70s modern architecture. One building in particular is:
I don’t think Paul has played in Albany before, but if he did, he sorta got Back To The Egg !!! Yep that was a bad one.
I wish I could see him in a small theatre like this.

lol that reminds me of something Paul-tour-related. Are you familiar with the giant roadside 80-foot Uniroyal Tire just outside of Detroit? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U…..Giant_Tire (If not you should click the link because it’s awesome) There’s a short “Rock and Roll News” blurb in an old Creem (America’s Only Rock ‘n Roll) Magazine from 1976 of Paul on tour over America. Apparently the Wings tour bus (limo?) happened to pass the tire when they were in Detroit for their concert, and Paul immediately asked the bus driver to stop. They pulled over, Paul went out and stared at the tire for a couple of minutes, occasionally shaking his head, then got back in and the drive continued.)
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

@vonbontee, i’m getting a message from google saying your link for the giant tyre outside Detroit cant be found.
@Crinsk, can’t believe a spectator at a concert of any age would complain about a fan clapping and singing along – surely you go knowing folk are going to be get excited and join in. Bet he’s glad he didnt go to a 60’s Beatles show.
Paul basically ignores his 80’s and 90’s catalogue playing live, very occasionally he might pull out Hope of Deliverance but thats pretty much it. Its a bug-bear of many Paul fans.

But that would have also been taken care of with the two he didn’t do. At least now it makes sense he didn’t do Early Days since it was debuted today. But it’d be a shame if the expense going into Appreciate went to waste (along with the fact it’s my favorite song. :->

WATCH OUT NOW – take care, beware of many spoilers…
Saturday could quite possibly have been the second best day of my life (said the man married to the same beautiful bride for 30 years!). It started out with a wonderfully lazy Saturday morning spent sipping coffee on the couch with Zag and Zog watching reruns of old, favorite classic shows. The anticipation of the Paul McCartney show that evening had been building for some time, but it really didn’t slap me across the face until I started packing for my trip to the Capital District of New York State. At this point, adrenaline would be my companion for the duration of the day, night and wee hours of Sunday morning. But, I am getting ahead of myself.
After exchanging good-byes, embraces and kisses with Z & Z, I drove the 4 hours to my home town just outside of Troy NY. I was flying solo as this show was a present for my 50th birthday from the aforementioned bride and she wanted to afford me the best seat possible (what have I done to deserve her?). The plan was to have an early dinner with my parents and then spend some time with my brother and his family while getting “warmed up” for the show. Once I arrived in town, I was informed that my Zister-in-law managed to find a ticket that day for my brother. My friend adrenaline then invited all of his friends to come over to my place and they completely took over. Ahhh Girl, on her way to see Ringo with ExTex and their spouses, called me an hour and a half before the concert and we exchanged well wishes to enjoy the respective shows. I think she managed to get a word or two into the conversation. Adrenaline, along with his family and an ale or three had my mouth working at astonishing speeds. When my Z-i-l dropped us off at the Times Union Center in Albany NY, the atmosphere was electric and eclectic. What a diverse audience! Suffice it to say there were children of all ages in attendance soaking up every glorious moment of pre-show anticipation. After walking around for a while and enjoying one last cold one, my brother and I went to our respective seats and waited.
Macca came on a bit late, (brother says it was about 8:18) but no one seemed to mind. Especially when the band came out and opened with a very rocking ‘Eight Days A Week ’. Paul looked and sounded fresh and energized. It was great to see that he was in good health. I won’t go into every song, but will hit some of the highlights. An entire set list can be found here. And now, the highlights:
Opening – I want to know who Paul’s and Ringo’s tailors are. They wear the coolest jackets!! Please forgive all of us in attendance for singing over Paul. We couldn’t help it!
‘Eleanor Rigby ’ was a highlight because Macca used images from a local artist as the background on the big screens. A classy touch to be sure. You can’t see many of the images, but here is the YT video.
We were treated to the first ever live performance of ‘On My Way To Work’. Before playing it, Paul said that the lighting crew and the sound crew had no idea they were going to play it – only the band knew. What ensued was a no-frills (the “frillers” were unaware!), wonderfully fresh performance of one of my favorites from the NEW album.
Without a doubt, the biggest moment of the evening came from a couple who showed the rest of us what the best way is to meet a Beatle on stage. During the show, the cameras would show signs from the audience to be displayed on the big screens. These folks obviously made an impression on him when they held up the following signs: Hers – “He won’t marry me til he meets you”. His – “I have the ring and I’m 64”. I will let Sir Paul regale you with the rest of the story and the ensuing sing-along.
That happened during the second encore!!
More than once, myself and other people in my section would respond to Paul’s post song “thank you!” with a resounding “NO – THANK YOU!!”
When the show was over, I found my brother. Without saying a word, we embraced. That was the first time all night that I wept. I thought I would have lost it long before that, but Mr. Adrenaline and his friends had me laughing, jumping, dancing, singing and screaming all night long. It was the first time in at least 25 years that an usher had to tell me to get down off of my chair. That was the last time all night that any part of me touched that chair. Anyway, we eventually made our way down the street where Z-i-l was waiting to take us home. A glorious party took us into the early hours of Sunday morning as the Adrenaline clan eventually parted company. It was a night I hope to never forget. Thank you, Sir Paul. Thank you.
If you have not yet seen it, here is a review of the show I found online.
Envy is something I don’t usually feel. But today, I am incredibly jealous of anyone who has tickets to see future dates on this tour. Get ready faceo!…and bring lots of socks as they will surely be knocked off.

Its great to hear fellow BB’rs having such incredible and unforgettable times whilst seeing Paul. Thank you so much for the posts, videos and links.
And its not just BB’rs or die-hard Paul and Beatles fans, the very large majority who have gone to see Paul in concert since he resumed touring in the early 2000’s have acclaimed his shows and gone away with their own unforgettable memories and a greater appreciation of him.
Everyone here who goes to see him (and Ringo) please keep the posts coming of your evening – even if it does makes those who can’t see him so damn envious.

It probably takes a lot to get a Beatle to shake his head. I wonder what kind of weed-induced paranoia he was experiencing at that moment.
