Success!! My friend and I were on the phone together. I pulled up seats I liked, but my friend went into a section above my budget… and then unexpectedly offered to pay the difference on my ticket. So we’ve got great seats, I’m really happy!
*whew* That stress is over.
Congrats parlance!
I was able to score a great seat as well. First section on the floor, right of center 16 rows from the stage. This will be the first concert I’ve ever gone to by myself and am actually looking forward to that experience.

Paul keeps announcing new dates. Who knows, DrBeatle?
The last four digits of the tracking number for the letter I am sending @Expert Textpert with his tickets is 1964 – the Beatles come to America!

This is it for this summer, though…confirmed on his forums. I’m fine with it, last summer is still one of the highlights of my life (musically, at least). He has a history of not visiting the same cities in consecutive tours anyway so I knew he wouldn’t be coming back here, was just hoping for something closer (ie still in New England) but it’s alright!

And the venue where he is playing is just across the highway from the hotel where he slept in 1964.

Tickets for Paul’s gig at Candlestick Park go on sale Monday. The article suggests it will be the final date of the “Out There” tour.

start with post 464 on that thread for information on an interview Paul did on the KROQ morning show on 6 May 2014. In the interview he talks about his upcoming “Out There” tour date at Dodgers Stadium. He also reflects on The Beatles concert there.

Well, this takes the cake for ticket issues:
Beatlefan Japan correspondent Gen Onoshima reports:
About a half of the tickets for Macca’s Budokan concert were on sale today (May 11) at the eight branch offices of Kyodo Tokyo Co. and were sold out sooner. The other half of the tickets were for those who could not attend the offices and will be sold by lot and the result of “win or lose” will be shown at 6 p.m. on May 14.
There was a long line to the Tokyo branch office from the previous evening and the liners included minors. Because the staying on the street by the minors all night long is prohibited by the Tokyo municipal ordinance and under the instructions of the police, the office distributed an exchange coupon to each in a hurry and let the people brreak up.

Paul has had to cancel his entire Japan tour. From Beatlefan:
Beatlefan Japan correspondent Gen Onoshima reports it was announced May 20 that all shows on the Japan leg of the spring Out There! tour have been canceled because of Macca’s continuing illness.
An official statement said:
“Paul McCartney will regrettably have to cancel the remaining Japanese shows. Paul is still not feeling better and this cancelation is unavoidable. He was hoping to be better but the doctors have ordered him complete rest. Paul has been extremely moved by the messages from his fans and is upset to be letting them down.
All possibilities to find a solution to reschedule these shows as soon as possible are being explored.”
And Paul issued a statement to fans, saying:
“I was really looking forward to playing in Japan again after we had such an amazing time here in November. So to cancel these shows as well as the National Stadium shows is hugely disappointing for me as well. I’d like to thank my Japanese fans for their love, messages of support and understanding.
I hope to see you all again soon.
Love,
Paul

It looks like he’ll have to cancel South Korea too.
The postponements for illness are unprecedented in McCartney’s career. Though he has postponed single shows in the past, he has never postponed this many shows at once for illness.

That makes me a little nervous he’s going to cancel the show I managed to get a ticket to this august. He’s playing his first, and probably last show ever in Montana, a state known for its cowboys and drunk drivers, and I was lucky enough to get a pretty good seat.

August is 6 weeks or so away so hopefully Paul has fully recovered by then Mimi. I wouldn’t worry about it just now, just delight in having a ticket and are getting to see Paul live. If you are on facebook you could send Paul a get well soon message.
