Somebody check McCartney’s luggage carefully before he flies into Japan for his “Out There” tour dates.

And nobody tell Yoko what hotel he’s staying in.

Yeah, that too. Thanks for thinking of it MMM.

apple01heartParlance,

Thanks for going so we could all live the experience through your and your reports!

Thanks, Trud! It was a fun thing to do even though Paul couldn’t see it.

Pleasure’s all mine, cbatcu. a-hard-days-night-george-10

So I got into the Jimmy Kimmel show! I didn’t get a ticket, but the woman whom I saved a space for at Outside Lands flew out again, and she let me be her +1. We were way in back in the third section – they barely show it in the live stream. But we were at least front row in that section so we could see Paul above people’s heads and also had the Jumbtron. And he was adorable, and I couldn’t be happier.

Also, I made a sign in the “New” font but we were too far back for Paul to see it. And they gave us glowsticks with “New” and Paul’s signature on them!

Just dropped my friend off at the airport so I’m catching the last bit of the stream now. I’ll post a longer report later (don’t worry, it won’t be anywhere near as long as the Outside Lands one!).

What?! Wow, I am so jealous. I love Jimmy Kimmel, and I like Paul a lot too. When I heard Paul was going to be on Jimmy Kimmel Live I was so excited you don’t even understand.

I was excited too. Long time ago he was Jimmy the Sports Guy on the morning radio show I listen to, and I’ve been a fan since. One other time I was in his studio audience for Tears for Fears – it’s almost been 10 years. Sheesh…

I’m an East Coast boy and a New England lifer (Boston!) but there are times when I wish I did live in LA or NYC

Not bad, parlance, seeing Paul twice in the span of a couple of months! a-hard-days-night-john-5

I can’t have it any other way. I grew up in Chicago, and I found I can’t live anywhere but a sprawling metropolis. Even the few years I lived in college towns, I either took frequent trips to the nearest big city, or I just went stir-crazy.

I’m a bit different. I need to live within driving distance of a major city (~1-2 hrs) but I prefer to live in the ‘burbs 8)

I went to Chicago a few years back in my bachelor days to visit a woman I met on the dating site I was on. Great city, cleanest city I’ve ever been to. Visited right during the Taste of Chicago fest, and she had tickets to that, so that was a lot of fun.

Growing up, we moved everywhere depending on where my father’s job took him, so we often lived near big cities (Philly, San Fran, Seattle). Then I married a small-town country girl from West Virginia who has panic attacks in big cities (Knoxville, which is big but not THAT big, is still too big for her), so a small town’s where I live now. Took a while to get used to, but I love it now.

I hope when I’m older I can be more content with living in a smaller town because, man, it’s expensive to live here. My plan was always to live close to a university library, so if I can at least swing that, I might be good.

Ahahaha! Nah, I’ve just always had this master plan that one day I won’t need to run around in a big city and I’d retire in a small town.

Fair enough! For me, the city is always somewhere I love to visit, but wouldn’t ever want to live there.

I’ve been listening to the new tunes Paul played at the iHeartRadio show. I like them! I am really excited to hear the studio versions. Everybody Out There…wonder if this tour was named after the song, or vice versa?

Wanted to share Jimmy Kimmel Live links I’ve come across:

* The Macca Report has a write-up that includes the soundcheck setlist. There are YouTube videos of Let ‘Em In, but I haven’t yet found one of Matchbox or Blue Suede Shoes.

* Zumic.com has links to the interview and stream.

* X17 Online’s YouTube video has soundcheck footage. And someone posted Let ‘Em In.

* Someone’s posted the whole stream on YouTube. Also here.

* The LA Times has a complimentary review of Paul’s performance.

* Examiner Coverage: 1 2 3 4

As an aside, someone on the Macca board mentioned that Jimmy Kimmel spent much of Justin Timberlake’s interview last night fawning over Paul, so I’m going to have to catch that.

Im a country bumpkin. The city is ok but give me the peace and quiet and the clean fresh air any day.

Paul, if you ever want a country getaway send me a PM. I’ll even throw in homemade veggie meals.

As Edmonton’s population creeps towards the million mark…I want OUT!

I’m tired of driving in a big city, just tired of all the rush, rush, rush.  I would love to move outside of the city, but with my kids in school here, it’s not that simple.  One  day…….

Once you do move out of the city, you’ll be amazed how much calmer you are. You lose the energy of the city, but the tranquility of the small town is quite relaxing.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 Agree!!  I am sure that is true, Wetroosa.  I would love the calm of small town life.  The chaos of the city is getting very old.
