Didn’t expect it to be that long, Parlance. I enjoyed reading it, though, and it sounds like you had a fantastic time. Thanks for sharing (but not for making me jealous) 😀

Fabulous write up, Parlance! Really made me feel like I was there (wish I had been)! Makes me excited to try to go and see him again… would LOVE to get my Beatles tattoo signed!
Thanks for sharing, so glad you got to go, and to get front row!!!
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

Awww. I wasn’t expecting it to be that long, either, but once I started, it all had to be told. To be honest, I often wish people would write blow-by-blow accounts for those of us who have to live vicariously.

That was marvellous parlance – on behalf of those who have to live vicariously *sigh* I thank you!
At least living in the same hemisphere gives most of you some advantage – I don’t s’pose he’s planning a tour to Australia any time soon???

You’re very welcome! The rumors keep swirling because of the Japan dates, so *fingers crossed!*

Excellent review, Parlance! You write so well Thanks for posting that.
After recuperating yesterday from our 38 hour/1,000 mile road trip to see Paul…I wrote a very short blurb:
Almost 1,000 miles, car issues, directional issues, fender bender, squished ride in a shuttle bus, standing in line with 40,000 people……….Row 27 on the FLOOR!!! Doing “The Wave”, spending 3 hours with Paul McCartney !!!, singing “Hey Jude ” in a choir of 40,000 people, once in a lifetime experience. Do it all again? In a second!!!
I saw him November/12 and I think this show August 14/13 was just a touch better. Paul was more interactive & the Saskatchewan fans are AMAZING and made it so much fun. He screwed up the words on “Mr. Kite” but made a flippant comment about “nobody being perfect” lol I cried my eyes out during “Here Today ” and “Mull Of Kintyre “. He played 2 hours 50 minutes for us and it was beyond my expectations. I just don’t have the words (unlike Parlance) to express how amazing Paul is to see and how damn lucky I am to have seen him twice Love that man!

Thank you, Parlance! And thanks for asking about the fender bender. It’s actually funny in retrospect…
We were leaving the hotel to go to the stadium. I have my Paul t-shirt on & am backing the car out to go when I feel a slight bump. I couldn’t believe it! I backed into a pick-up truck. So, I get out of the car apologizing (so Canadian! lol) and telling the guy how long we’ve driven, etc., etc. He looked and said there was no damage to his truck (I honestly didn’t hit him very hard), but I have a very small dent in my trunk. I told him I didn’t care about the small dent. He says to me “You going to see Paul?!” and I said yes. He said “No harm done. Have a GREAT night & enjoy the concert” People from Saskatchewan are VERY nice
Oh..and now I have a permanent reminder on my car of my crazy road trip to see Paul! And I learned a valuable lesson that I should not drive prior to any Paul McCartney concerts because my mind CLEARLY is not on my driving My friend drove the rest of the night – lol!

I’m glad the damage wasn’t too bad and you’re safe. And now you have a funny story to add to your Paul adventures!

I forgot to ask:
Did anybody make/is going to make posters in the hope of getting Paul’s attention and being called onstage?
If he does a Dublin date, I’ll definitely make one!Yes! Yes, you should. In SF, he brought up two women who asked for him to sign their wrists so they could get tattoos (you’ll see a bit of that from my pics).
Make sure the writing is big. And if he does a GA show, just get right up there to front row so he can see you and security can just grab you. :->
parlance
Interestingly, he read a ton of posters when I saw him in Boston, but he didn’t call anyone onstage. From what I’ve read, it’s the only show this tour where he hasn’t done that…weird!
He didn’t in Seattle either. Sounds selfish but I’m kind of glad, because I would have been SO jealous watching that from my “nosebleed” seat! Seems he does it more at the general admission shows, not the ones with assigned seating… which is kind of fair, because the people that get up there are people (like Parlance) who go there early to get to the front, not people that had thousands of dollars to spend on a close seat.

He brought a young, blonde girl up on stage in Regina Her name was Chelsey and her sign said “Will You Sign My Tattoo?”
Her tattoo was on her left wrist and said “Let It Be “, so Paul signed under that…in that dirty old man way, as previously mentioned, came around her from behind and signed her wrist. He signed one in Edmonton too, but I can’t remember much about that at the moment.
Funny Paper: Paul started out fine on “Mr. Kite”….it was the 2nd line he forgot words and just sort of hummed for a second then caught up to the words.
Thanks, LHL!
And Parlance – so true…a little dent in the trunk, all for the love of Paul!! Even my Mom (who checked out the damage today) said it was scarcely noticeable & worth it for seeing Paul in return! Agreed.

Ugh, so lucky. One day… I hope. I’d never ever get over it.

Back in May, my husband suggested that we go to the Paul McCartney concert at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN. I said, “Who?” He told me that Paul was in the Beatles. I could see that he really wanted to go, and we would be on vacation at my mom’s so I wanted for him to have something fun to do while we were there (we live in Oklahoma). I was amazed. Sir Paul has gained himself a new enthusiastic fan. I’m 45 and just now discovering the joy of the Beatles and McCartney’s post-Beatles career. I bought the black box collection of all the Beatles cd. I am about 3/4 the way of getting Wings and solo cds.
