I don’t know if this is thread worthy, but I’m gonna try it out anyways.
It’s no secret that I’m a Paul freak and that I love almost everything about him.. but what the hell is with his laugh? Teddy Boy on the Anthology album, the end of Lovely Linda.. I know there is more examples but I can’t think of them. It’s just.. weird. Maybe it’s not his full laugh, maybe it’s just when he giggles. I have never noticed it in any interviews. Maybe it’s his stoned laugh or something. I’m not saying my laugh is any better or anything, it’s nerdy and awful.. just something I noticed.
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

And finally a McManic:

Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. In some of the early home recordings from Anthology, I hear that same laugh and just assumed it was Paul based on hearing the same examples you cited.
If that’s the worst thing that can be said about him, then he will be OK. Only time will tell.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

The thing is, I don’t think we have a recording of Paul’s actual normal day-to-day laugh; these laughs you hear on various songs you can bet are calculated to sound that way — Paul was very meticulous about every sound in his songs. He wasn’t one of these off-the-cuff “oh let’s just play how we feel, who cares if it’s perfect, don’t be so uptight, man” types who abound in rock music. That’s why I like him.

I’m pretty sure the laugh in the Teddy Boy outtake was off-the-cuff. It’s not like he knew back then there’d be an Anthology.

Apparently, the “seagull” noises on Tomorrow Never Knows are Paul’s laugh sped up. (Someone on this forum said that a while ago; I don’t remember who.)
Also known as Egg-Rock, Egg-Roll, E-George, Eggy, Ravioli, Eggroll Eggrolli...

I saw something about that on Youtube the other day about that, I think it was one of the “extras” from the Anthology. I’ll try to find it.

That tidbit of info is in Joe’s description of the making of the song — up in the “Songs” tab at the top of the website. Joe said he culled all that information from many sources. It makes for fun reading, just click on any song at random and learn lots of interesting and unusual details.

Yes, thank you. That’s the other one I was trying to think of.

I was about to mention this well, if you want to hear Paul’s genuine’s laughs the best place would probably the Anthology which were off takes. If they laughed in the off take unintentionally (if the laugh isn’t heard in the released version) then it’s probably a real laugh.
Also don’t forget the interviews where they laugh a lot.

This is from the 90’s and he laughs a bit at the end. He’s so adorable…

Ohh, I’ve always thought his giggle is a weird one. In one interview done in the sixties…64? I think you can find it on youtube if you search for “a funny interview”, he kind of giggles there and it’s so weird. And with that cute face of his…
And yes, this topic is definitely worthy of its own thread

The Beatles Rarity podcast this week features an outtake of “I’ve Got A Feeling” that has Paul laughing – deeper, less giggly.
(Start out with volume on low before playing, the default is a bit loud.)

Doesn’t the announcer introducing the piece innaccurately say it’s John laughing? It sure sounds like Paul to me. Let’s start another “Ah ah ah” derailment…

Well it looked like Chaos And Creation In The Backyard to me, like it was rehearsed. And there you go! Paul on the drums again!
