Offline Very interesting. Paul for me was the master of melodic bass lines. As far as him being the finest bass player fundamentally, I guess that would be personal taste. There are a lot of fantastic bass players but when it comes to being innovative, playing to the song, he's the man.
My favorite bass line from him is on 'Think For Yourself ' were he plays the fuzz bass along with the normal bass lines.

You know what? I've always thought that bassline was FUNKY. I mean, the bassline is like a march.
