My friend is a huge Nirvana fan, and she always tells me how Kurt did not like to admit that he liked the Beatles. I guess we’ll both be happy about tonight. I’m not a huge fan of Nirvana, but I respect them. She is a very uninformed fan then. His biggest disappointed in life was when he found out as a kid that The Beatles didn’t exist and also in the interview he said that he wanted to become a rock star because of The Beatles. If that is not admitting than I don’t know what is.
I was going to say the same thing; Kurt was always very public and effusive in his praise of the Beatles, and openly admitted that his songwriting was influenced vastly by Lennon-McCartney’s.
Yup, he even said that he wrote “About a girl” when he listened to the With the Beatles album all day long.

I think it was Meet The Beatles!, but you’re otherwise correct. I think Krist Novoselic described About A Girl as the bridge between The Beatles and grunge, which seems about right.
Can buy me love! Please consider supporting the Beatles Bible on Amazon
Or buy my paperback/ebook! Riding So High – The Beatles and Drugs

Yeah I always mix those two, I am not sure why US had to have different album songs and even names than the original UK ones.
