I found this article here: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/ho…..mpics.html that says Paul is going to play the 2012 Olympics, either the opening or the closing ceremonies. So what is your guys thoughts on this?
I personally don't care either way. If he plays more power to him, if he doesn't then oh well. I'm still looking forward to the opening ceremony to see what they do to try and top Vancouver and Beijing opening ceremonies. (And I have a crazy dream to see David Tennant light the torch, but that's just me.)

Am I surprised? No. Do I trust anything coming from the Sun? No. It’s typical that the top musician from the home country plays at least once. Neil Young played in Vancouver, Paul plays London. Just keeping with tradition.

*wants to go watch Paul*
I remember when the Olympics came to Salt Lake. I was in first grade. When the torch passed through West Valley City, our school got the day off to watch. I missed it because I was ill. I threw up just before the runner passed us by and my mom had to pick me up.
If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

Well the rumors that he and Ringo will play with Julian Lennon and Dhani Harrison have been debunked by Julian himself.
*snorts* as if that were possible.. come on.

Sean might be more willing to play with Paul and Ringo… but I don't think so…
And honestly, as much as I like them, I don't wanna see Sean or Dhani or Julian playing with Paul or Ringo. I mean, it's hard to make a name for yourself with such big giant as a father, and, you try to fill his shoes..

That would be great, at first i heard that Paul and Ringo might play with members of The Rolling Stones and Sex Pistols, in either case it would be great even if only Paul got to do it, if so it might be one of the first opening ceremonies i really put attention to.

I predict he plays “All You Need Is Love ” with God Save the Queen opening the song instead of the French Marseillaise (he's done it before). He'll bring British Rock royalty onto the stage with him (Jagger, Richards, Clapton, etc…).
You heard it here first.

He’s not playing it. Show me a press release, a statement from Paul, a press conference by the IOC, something. Not a unbelievable account from a British tabloid. Until that, I don’t think so. I mean, when Vancouver had the Olympics, it was a no brained to have Neil Young play. He’s the pre-eminent Canadian musician ever. With London 2012, you could do the Stones (who will probably be touring around then), Clapton, Zeppelin (using a fill in drummer), Elton John, any number of others, there’s more selection. And therefor less a chance of Paul. Love it to happen, but don’t set the DVR’s just yet.
