Wow, another one I’ve never heard. It reminds me of Yvonne’s The One which is a favorite of the McLennon believers. The first line of Your School does not seem like something you would say to an ex-girlfriend.

The YT person who put it up thinks it’s about John, but if so, it expresses an evidently romantic framework.

Paul could write a song blatantly about a hippo and someone would claim it’s really about John with a 23 point essay example explaining all evidence to the supposed fact.

That may be true, but we are still left with a romantic song about someone in the 3rd & 2nd person, and no one to match it to. It could be entirely fictional, though the elegantly simple production and emotional poignancy of his vocal delivery & melody, plus some of the seemingly particular/specific references in the lyrics would indicate otherwise. It’s funny how so many things about the Beatles remain mysteries as though we were talking about some pre-Egyptian civilization from the 4th millennium B.C. for which archeologists only have fragments of pottery shards.

The lyrics could easily be read as being about Linda and his involvement with the Eastman family, as it could be argued that she changed how he lived his life (schooled him), along with his values (vegetarianism, etc.), while the family as a whole schooled his approach to business dealings during and after the split.
It should also be noted that the song is from 1984, one of the first recorded at his Hog Hill Mill studio, not the Off The Ground sessions as suggested by the video, and is uncomplete (the demo is looped to give the impression it was more finished than it was).

There also are lyrical fragments that make more sense (though still somewhat enigmatic) alluding to John than to Linda:
we’re gonna a talk it out someday… I want it, you want it, they want it too
tell me that I learned a lot in your school, your school…
ohhh you better tell me all you know concerning this situation
I’d like it, you’d like it, they always do…
