I generally sync music to my phone and let it play randomly so a lot of songs get thrown on but not heard for a long time. A couple of days ago ‘Tropic Island Hum’ came on which is one of those songs and after seeing what the hell it was I spent most of the time mentally comparing it to the beautiful and insane ‘We All Stand Together’. I don’t believe ‘TIH’ is as good as that (for one the orchestration work by George Martin is stunning) yet it is ridiculously catchy and fun; I mean ridiculously as I went away thinking nothing of it yet it’s stuck in my head ever since getting better with every loop.
How Paul has that ability to create tunes and songs that you leave thinking little of yet somehow improve with passing time I have no idea.
