Is there one?
Just listening to “Maybe I’m Amazed ” (from the album not the live version) – and I think that might be it.
Not that it’s my favorite; Eleanor Rigby and Penny Lane would be in the running for that honor. But MIA shows off his vocal range + it’s a love song that isn’t schmalzy ( in the vein of “Don’t Let Me Down “) + it shows his musical versatility, as he plays all the instruments!
Any other choices?

That’s a tough one but i’m going to have to go with Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da .
This song displays his perfectionism in two ways. First, these were hectic sessions for everyone else because Paul knew exactly what he wanted and expected people to follow his orders. Also, the doubling of the bass on an acoustic guitar and the piano fills in the final verse show Paul adding little touches to songs that don’t need to be there but make the song ever so slightly better.

Silly Love Songs. So self aware making fun of his history as a hitmaker, but also a great song with a ripping basline and an awesome 3 part vocal section.

Paul…something upbeat and tuneful……..So that covers 99% of his songs….The rest are downbeat and tuneful.…(clever sod). Penny Lane
John’s work reaches the same heights for me as anything by Paul, but is more patchy….Who knows what he could have written with more time?….Strawberry fields
George carved out the mystic and preachy before he went all tuneful…….So ‘Within Something and Without Something ‘
Ringo……Errr? ……Umm……? I always think of his drumming, or kids ………Or With A Little help from His Friends getting blisters on his fingers.

Ooh, I’d agree with that! Or maybe Octopus’ Garden… it’s just so Ringo.

Sorry I know 3/4 of these songs are from Sgt. Pepper .
Reporter: Beethoven figures in one of your songs. What do you think of Beethoven?
Ringo Starr: He’s great. Especially his poetry.
