I don’t really like the music from The Beatles solo careers but it is interesting how Paul was such a nice person to Michael, only for Michael to buy the rights to all of his songs and not give them back to the person who rightfully deserves it. Anyways, did you guys know that Paul plays the guitar and keyboards in this song as well as sing on it.

I try hard to forget this song ever existed. It was crap when I first heard it on ‘All The Best’ and it’s soared ever since in how much I hate it, I cannot explain how atrocious it is. The 12″ and instrumental remixes make it even more annoying. Even the music video is irritating. I haven’t heard the 2015 remix but I’m willing to bet that’s utter s**t as well.
Paul’s catalogue would be far better if he deleted all his work with Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder so no one has to be reminded how such incredible music legends combined to make such execrable music.

@meanmistermustard do you like MJ’s music?
I like some of it. I cannot take any more than 2 or 3 songs in one go before I get highly bored but that’s the same with the very large majority of artists I’ve heard.

That’s collaborations for you, it’s just like how they took Queen (with such great hits as Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, and We Are The Champions) and David Bowie (with such great hits as Space Oddity, Changes, and Heroes) and made a song that really sucks, also known as Under Pressure. If you want an even better example, Metallica and Lou Reed go together as well as a Big Mac and maple syrup.

I used to love Michael Jackson a lot, but I feel like I’ve outgrown some of his music. Although I do love this song.

I like it, but it’s become taboo in our household after the mere mention of it would get it worming in everyone’s ears for the rest of the week.

I don’t mind ‘Under Pressure’. Tho they then decided to remix it after they had already dragged Queen’s name thru the mud thanks to vomit inducing collaborations and made it worse.
If you want an idea of how low Queen sunk after ‘Made In Heaven’ check out ‘Greatest Hits III’. For all that the original greatest hits was, the third was the opposite.

Under Pressure and Play The Game are two of the only Queen songs I like. Not a huge fan, Sue Me!

‘Play The Game’ is a great song.
Queen fans would kill me as their all-out rock I find unlistenable.

I like it though, even if MJ took all of Paul’s song rights.
Hey, hey as a massive fan of Michael Jackson (the only person I know more about than George). He bought the rights to the Beatles’ songs fair-and-square. Not his fault Paul and Yoko were too cheap to cough up big bucks for the song rights.
Now what he did with the catalogue is wibbly-wobbly depending on your feelings, but I don’t like Paul’s constant bitching on MJ as if Michael stole the songs off him, no Paul your tightness stopped you from getting the rights to your songs.
Mini-rant over.
As regards Say, Say, Say I like it, it’s cute, nothing too wow about, but it’s not Michael’s nor Paul’s worse track. I much prefer it to Thriller’s duet The Girl Is Mine.
Fun fact: the girl @3:21 who Michael says “cause I love you” to is actually his sister La Toya Jackson, bit odd but there you go. I don’t really know why she’s in it, he described her as a ‘witch’ in a private phone call, and she treated him like utter muck in the press.

I just don’t understand why it’s a thing that people can own the rights to other people’s songs. It just seems strange to me. Like, if Paul writes a song, it’s his song. No disrespect intended.
Bad contracts that John and him signed in the early days, when they had no idea how much the Lennon/McCartney songwriting empire would be worth.
I’m sure it still goes on now.

Isn’t the girl who Michael is after in the The Way You Make Me Feel video also La Toya?

Nope that’s Tatiana Thumbtzen* although La Toya is in TWYMMF, she’s one of Thumtzen’s girl pals who jeer at Michael’s gang.
*Fun fact #2: She was meant to tour with MJ on a select few dates of the Bad Tour, performing TWYMMF (the Bad Tour didn’t have any female backup dancers only male). Unfortunately she got herself sacked as she decided to kiss MJ during one of her early performances. He was not impressed with her unprofessional attitude.
