Sometimes I wish music videos were a bit more literal. When a song tells a story, why should a video tells a completely different one? Personally I’d have loved Queenie Eye to contain some nostalgia – they could even have used the celebs, but had them dressed as 1950s kids playing games. Has anyone seen Dennis Potter’s TV play Blue Remembered Hills? That did something similar and worked very well.
The only thing about taking this approach is that the song really isn’t about a game. Rather, it uses the children’s game as a metaphor.
I had to look up the play you were talking about, it sounds intriguing.

Personally, I never watch music videos. I prefer to see the images in my head that I create from listening to the songs.
Yeah, that’s pretty much the way I feel most of the time too. Of course there are exceptions, like ones that have historical interest. For example, the day Apple decides to compile all of the Beatles ’60s videos on a nice shiny piece of plastic, you know I’ll be all over that!

I was just watching the Youtube video to this and I noticed it’s 1860 views away from being 10,000,000 views. Paul still has a huge impact, even with a song from 5 years ago not 55 years ago it seems…
Question is, will anyone here be the ten millionth viewer?
