How do you feel about this being the second single from the album? What would you pick?
I think it’s a good song, but I would have preferred “Alligator”. It is still what I guess has to be “radio friendly”, and a really good song. There are other great ones like ‘Early Days ” and “Scared” that I think are real and quite amazing, but they probably would not do as well because of their style.
Also thoughts on the video? There is this “making of” on Paul’s Youtube channel:
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

In Beatley Moments a week ago, I posted about one of the guys on the morning show I listen to mocking New.
This morning, the same entertainment news guy mocked “Queenie Eye ” and played a bit of the chorus, which – again – not a KROQ song, so it came across terribly. He prefaced this with a quote about the song being about a children’s game, prompting one of the DJs to say, “What happened to him? He’s only writing music for children now.” The other DJ who’d spoken in his defense last week said nothing.
*sigh* I thought that might happen. I like the song, but it is an odd choice for a single. And people on maccaboard have said it’s not getting much play on the Adult Album Alternative format stations that would be the ones to play it.

Speaking of maccaboard, someone posted this video. I think we have an official Queenie Eye dance. *giggling madly*

It would not be my choice for a single. But I do feel it is the second most “Poppy” song on the album after the title track, so I can see why it was chosen. The video isn’t half bad.
Can’t say I agree, there are a few that would seem to suit better; the opening track, or “On my Way to Work’ etc.
Probably doesn’t matter too much – I’m not sure anyone buys Paul’s singles anymore, the whole thing is only buzz to keep attention on the album?

Is he using a “fuzz bass” on this song? Whatever it is, I really like the sound.
I may have mentioned this in another thread… but I am not a Kate Moss fan. I would like the video more if she weren’t flailing around it.

From the fan-made Queenie Eye video:

Is that from the Tv show Extras? The two in the above video are Stephen Merchant (left) and Shaun Williamson (right).

Oh, they are? Someone posted the video on YouTube, and if you go to the YouTube link upthread, they have other Paul-related videos at their channel.

Love the song, but really dislike the music video. Like he’s playing it in the studio and a bunch of famous people come and dance to it? I just really don’t understand, like why? Also, Paul is wearing sandals, and that makes it even worse.
