Oh…my…God !
mith, you just made my day. I had never seen this song done live. What a performance!
One night not too long ago, Zag and I had a few libations and ended up playing this song back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back… We sang, laughed and generally had a good old time with one of our favorite songs.
There are not enough “Mals” in the world to express my appreciation for your sharing this.

Mull of Kintyre: The Writing of One of Paul’s Most Enduring Hits.
Nice little video where Paul discusses the song and how he came to write it.
Far have I traveled and much have I seen
Darkest of mountains with valleys of green
Past painted deserts the sun sets on fire
As he carries me home to the Mull Of Kintyre …

I’d say he had a Beatley moment when it dawned on him what that sound was

I recently learned how to play this song on my guitar, which has caused me to love it even more!
What a delightful tune

For those who wish to see Paul play live.
Nottingham Forest sing ‘Mull Of Kintyre ‘ at their home games and apparently Paul intimated years ago to play it at the Forest ground if they ever got promoted back into the Premier League. They are leading their semi-final play-off against Sheffield United 2-1 and are only two games away from returning to the top league for the first time since 1999.
From an article in 2015 when Forest failed to get promoted.
While the Reds have Gerry Marsden and You’ll Never Walk Alone, and the Blues have Z-Cars, it seems Forest fans sing a version of McCartney’s number one anthem before each game.
Now the man himself has offered to join them … on the proviso that the team go up into the top league. Interviewed on XFM radio station, he was told about the terraces reworking and asked if he’d do a PA if they had reason to celebrate in May.
Sir Paul replied: “Yeah, when’s that going to happen? Imminent? Good luck Nottingham.”
I wonder if Paul even remembers he said that.

lol!
I can’t answer that; but I can say that Moe was a big late-first-generation Beatlefan (as opposed to my mother, an early first-gen fan), big enough fan that she still possessed her nearly mint copy of “Two Virgins “, as cousin Mav discovered
